M1009 Standard Shift Build(The Greatest Adventure)

I'm definitely changing everything. My rear t-case seal has been leaking so that is actually the most likely spot for some water getting in. I don't actually think it was up that high though.

Got lucky, last year I sank mine in a coal sludge dumping pit and it sank to over the driveside headlights. Now mine has about 10in of lift and 40in boggers. I had water flooded over the the hood release, up to the twin sticks. Sat like that for 6 weeks, in the winter. Where we then discovered not only was there an old D-6 dozer stuck in there that the coal mining company couldnt retrieve, but that it floods in the springtime to about 7 or so feet of water where it was stuck. We tried a 6wd (dually rear end) monstrous New Holland cab over tractor and it actually hopped off the ground before it broke a barge tow rope. Ended up taking a trackhoe out there and spending 7hrs on a Sunday getting it out. Took 2 days for the starter to thaw out and for it to actually start. Ruined the entire interior and destroyed all the wiring that got yanked off when the ice didnt break, ruined 2 fenders, a core support, and finally bent the frame on the one side up to where I had to cut the urethane body mount and body lift block down to make it look level. Strangely, after all of that sitting in water and nasty mud that Im still finding in crevices all over that thing, there wasnt a single drop of water in any of the fluids, and I drained them all. Couldnt believe it.

Haha, sorry. Im doing 15 things at once. Everyone calls these things different names and I figured that was the easiest to understand for guys that have never seen one in person. It was a front assist with an enclosed cab, with a dually rear end. Mainly he uses it to extract combines, This fella has the biggest farm that Iv ever seen, and biggest in these counties in that general area. Only thing he had bigger than this New Holland was a Caterpillar Challenger with tracks. And all its used for is extracting the combine + the New Holland when the NH gets stuck. So basically these 2 were just used for extraction duty, and not actual planting or harvesting work. And that must have been an expensive tow trucks, as they were fairly new in farm terms, being late late 90s or early 00 from my guess, and did nothing other than wait around for his or some other farmers equipment to get stuck.

Gotcha. That would be MFWD. They haven't use Front Wheel Assist in years. They are not referred to as a 4wd. Four wheel drive tractors articulate generally. They have the same size tires front and rear. I've never seen anyone have a tractor just for extraction work, that is odd.

He must have a lil money to burn I assume. Plus using it for extraction duty of the smaller farms out and about by him, guess it pulls its own weight. Probably one of them "I have to have it honey" type things. Judging by the hog farm with had to have been atleast a 1000 hogs and quite a bit of wieners running around, plus the grain side of things and on top of that the cattle roaming around across the street from his place that was his as well. Im thinking he had it going on. Most likely a multi generational farmer, as his brothers and sisters all live on the same basic plot of land, but quite a bit away as his basic plot is in the thousands of acres. Had a beautiful home and a trophy wife too.

I used to have a 67 wheel horse when I was like 10. 3 speed with mower deck and wagon. I was as cool as Bobby Boucher.

That's about all I know about tractors...

I hope you didnt follow the devil woman, play the devils game or rock out to the devils music whilst on that tractor

Made some major craigslist scores lately. I have a brand new 3rd row suburban seat I picked up for 75$ and 2 front seats with lumbar and armrests for 50$. The fronts were heavily smoked in which is a bummer for me, but the price was right. I still need to fix my floors before they get installed, which I have been procrastinating on, but I keep telling myself I really will.

If the smokey fronts bother me I may get them reupholstered and have seat heaters put in. I really want seat heaters in the back too, so my friends don't complain when there is no roof on in 30 degree weather. The main goal really is to make my truck a bit safer on and off road. Shoulder belts in the back will be a big improvement. I have also been contemplating a simple rear cage.

And if anyone wants the goofy blue seat covers they are free for the picking. I have 2 for the front seats.

Good score. That smokey smell will go away but it may take about 6 months. Use that Febreeze for Autos spray and leave the windows down whenever you can. It will help. The seats I have in my truck now came out of my brother's '95 Firebird that caught on fire while he was going down the road. Everything from the firewall forward was burnt up. The seats were good but they smelled like burnt car for months after I put them in my truck. They're good now though.

Nice! Same color as the rear seat? Can't tell, the pic makes it look like different colors.

The pattern on the insert of the back seat is almost the same as the pattern on the entire front seat. The fronts are so dirty they look tan but are or were gray.

So I got a little too excited by the ord Christmas sale and picked up quite a few things. Anyways just got my front shackles off and found this nice grooved up fush... I'm guessing I need new ones.
Oh fudge. I already have the greasable bushings for the stock size. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360114801.713845.jpg

Next concern I have is moving the fuel line to accommodate for ford shock towers.
