M1009 Standard Shift Build(The Greatest Adventure)

You'll like the Bilsteins. :waytogo:

Not a fan of the shackle flip? Just curious...

Not a fan of drilling grinding air hammering rivets. Plus my springs were from 1986 so new springs seemed like the best way to go to do things right.

Coming along nicely I see. Have you driven it with the crossover yet? How 'bout a rough idea on the cost too. If I can wipe my credit cards clean with my tax return and after I get my roof reshingled I want to go right back into credit card debt and buy the crossover stuff.

Just realized my cell phone pictures from tapatalk are doubling now that I am on my home computer. I don't know how to fix that.

I haven't driven on the crossover yet. I just put the box in last night when I posted that. The rear springs went in a few days ago. The fush are going to hold me up a few extra days. I usually get home around 9 and can only take so much grinding at one go. I apparently shot a decent piece of metal up my nose last night.

I got all the crossover stuff at the christmas sale so it was discounted.

249 reid knuckle
379 extreme duty power steering box
425 crossover

I think these are the retail prices. Also had to pick up new ball joints 60$ and get the pressed in the knuckle. At the same time I got my rear bushings pressed out of the tc springs. Labor is expensive these days I was charged one hour at 89$ I think. I have pulled out enough bushings and sleeves in my life so it was worth it to me.

I couldn't run high steer with my springs. I have ord custom 4 inches for the front. The packs are too thick for high steer. This is also why I'm going to the ford shock towers.

I pulled my inner fenders for better access to the fushs. I'm thinking of replacing them while they are out. I'll do some research later but I'll need a passenger gender that supports the dual batteries. Do they all have these bracings? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360215334.617828.jpg

630$

Shipping was killer though. I don't know why? 147.25 I'm kindof upset about this. I had my front axle shipped for 100$ last year. It only came from pennsylvania, but still it weighs a lot more and was in a giant crate and required a truck with a drop gate? I have been meaning to ask about that charge.

A little progress. Fush in and driver side spring. The amount I had to lift the truck over the axle has me worried about the front driveshaft. Maybe they will compress a lot with the weight of the truck.

Somehow the driver side spring plate fits my new center pin, but passenger side does not and I don't have a 9/16 drill big. That is what I think the hole is supposed to be. I will probably call ord tomorrow unless one of you guys know.

I'm all ready to reassemble my steering just waiting on the socket to come in for adjusting the ball joint sleeve thing ( forget technical name).

I'm going to leave my inner fenders out for the time being. I need to find a good spot to flex out and get some shock measurements to mount my new towers.

Thanks! We need to set up a date to get back out there soon. I'm getting a good head start so hopefully next time I'm not bolting my front axle on 20 minutes before a 9 hour drive.

Is the spring pin head a different diameter than the other side? Easy solution, get another spring pin.

Wait, now I need to think about this. The spring pins fit into the axle and the nut side goes up to the u-bolt plate... right? So, what doesn't fit?

Do you have a die grinder, or a rat tail file?
