M1009 Standard Shift Build(The Greatest Adventure)

You saw some really nice muleys!!!

I hope I have some better pictures on my camera. I can only upload cell phone pics on the road. I saw 4 that were grazing in the same field as 3 horses. I found that interesting, but they were not close enough together to fit in a picture.

I have lived in some great Muley country for 31+ years, have only seen a few as nice as the ones in your pic.

Open diffs need momentum to be effective while locked rigs can crawl and that's where you're diesel will shine :waytogo:

Brian currently runs a lock right and I used to. Didnt have any problems with mine but it takes a little getting used to especially slow in speed parking lots (ya know mall crawling :screwy: )

The lockrite in my brother in laws 4runner would lock & unlock at high way speeds and is sketchy in bad weather and my buddy Dan's bronco never unlocks. With that said I'd rock it:thumb: I run automatic lockers front and rear

The only time I ever really notice the lockrite is turning into a parking space... "CLUNKACHUNKACHUNKACHUNKACHUNK" (this is the exact noise the rear makes, amirite?) or turning onto a street, like from a parking lot or out of a driveway you will get tire chirpage. Under considerable power and tight turning you will get tire chirp.

I rocked lockrites in my S10 and now the K5. Bang vs buck, I have nothing bad to say about them. A real locker behaves better on road but the cost is 2x the lockrite. I've driven them in the hard packed snowy roads around here without issue and I found them to be no more "sketchy" than an open diff, if you get on it the tires will break free just like anything else.

Off road they really shine. When you came out with us in the spring you could plainly see the difference between the open diff trucks and the locked trucks climbing those loose rocky hills. Heavy throttle, momentum and a lot of bouncing around had the open diff trucks making the climbs. Where the locked rigs just walked right up with little throttle and very controlled.

Dammit rich, you should have convinced me to take off work for 2 weeks and rode with you lol. Heck, a few beers and Ida been all over riding in the camper the whole way

And how would we spend our nights in the camper together?
