M1028- [under new management]

Bummer I like those a lot and I would eventually like to find some 16" steel wheels for more tire options. Any idea where I would look for some? What do they come on and what size are they?

Yeah I am definitley down to go somewhere to play in the little snow we have this weekend. Im sure Nick would be down, but I think John is going hunting now so it might just be us 3 + a buddys 'yota. My buddy has a farm near Denton, I can see if he would let us go there Sunday maybe? You have any other ideas?

That sounds good to me! I just can't afford the fuel to Kansas right now... Usually I can manage to do whatever as long as I have a day of notice or so, having a kid and all.. But yea I'm down.

The rims are 16.5x9.75 camper special rims. They're pretty sweet aside from being tweaked like they are. My dad has a project '70 K20 that they would go pretty well on.. but who's to say when that's gonna happen lol.

Here's a few pics as she sits this very minute in my driveway. 35PSI in the fronts, 25 rear. Since I relocated the shackle hangars in the rear, the leafs have settled nicely, so it doesn't sit with as much rake as it had.

Click the pics for giant version :)

I will see if we can go out there and let you know. What about that local spot you found up in the helicopter?

Truck is lookin' good. It will look even better when you do the entire truck in OD green.

If you just want some interchangeable 16" wheels, most 1980's model C20 or K20's use a 16" stock steel wheel. Hell, I parted out a 1976 K20 that had 16" wheels. We used them on a pivot truck though, so I don't have them anymore. I have a set of 16" 8 lug Ford wheels that would work exactly the same though.

They're what? Pics?

Basically this. But mine are black and not as ugly.

A guy can find 16.5x9.75 wagon wheels all day for about 70 bucks each new. But these are nifty because they're factory and supposed to be heavier duty. Mine are only bent because they sat directly on my wheel dollies while I didn't have tires. Chris saw it when he came and got the 14 bolt from me. That's been awhile though.

Oh I thought they were 16's. I like how they have a deeper dish to them. Ill have to keep my eyes open for some or maybe take you up on those, Marty.

Yeah, I have 16.5"x9.75" wagon wheels. I don't care for them, too wide. Makes mounting the tire a nuisance.

That link doesn't work for me.

Here's one from my FB..

We definitely had to use ether to get the bead set.

Here's my whole truck album on FB too just for good measure...

It's still 7 feet! I tell you what. If I ever find a K5 to put all my crap on, my super sweet custom bed will be for sale. ;)

Went to the farm where some of the other local guys frequent today, it was a blast!! I'll get a few pics posted at some point, but the beastie developed a new issue just this morning. Glow plugs seem to be doing the same thing as usual, but after cycling them at least 8 freakin times, the engine would just crank, and never light off. Eventually Chris saved me with a tiny shot of ether while cranking which fired it right up. I let it run for a minute, smashed the air cleaner lid with my hood, shut it off and it fired right back up. Twenty minutes later, it needed the ether again. It wasn't all that cold today.. sounds like some sort of lift pump issue? Or maybe something is sucking air? It started just fine for the last week...

Thanks in advance!

A) use wd40 from now on. B) check your battery connections. Mine had a bad pos cable to the starter. It would turn over fine but it wouldn't pull in the solenoid to let the pump work.
