Max`s 02 lb7 Sold.upgraded to 2012 LML

No! Everyone hacks on the lb7. Mine has been great...I`m the only one that has ever opened the hood.

I used to be on the Diesel Place a lot when I first got the truck and it was post after post about injectors. All it did was make me nervous about it so I quite reading about them and just drive it! :thumb:

The truck has ran on Dyed fuel all its life and I use Howe's fuel conditioner in every tank of fuel. I use the stock filter and change it every 25 thousand Klm`s.

That said it will more than likely blow up next week!! :doah::haha:

How do you like the straight pipe on your truck??

That's awesome! Especially with over 200k miles. I agree, lots of people bad mouth the LB7s, mostly cause of the common injector issues. I am going to look into Howe's for my truck now. :waytogo:

The straight pipe was awesome at first and still is kinda fun sometimes, but its a little too loud. I would like to get a MBRP 4" system with a muffler to quiet it down a little bit with a better tone. I did the straight pipe cause I was broke and wanted some sound. So for the money, you can't beat it :).

First thing...I `m going to get some antifreeze test strips to measure how bad the acid is in my coolant...I may have screwed my self on this one.

Everything else on this truck I have been good about keeping up on,but not the coolant. Can`t get any test strips until tomorrow so we will see how that goes next week!???

What's this about?

What's this about?

Just me being paranoid after talking to Russell. :haha:
I neglected changing the dexcool in my truck and was thinking about the heads being eroded.

Russell`s firs Lb7 that he put in his Tahoe started to leak coolant so when he took it apart to fix it he found all kinds of bad things inside. I think he said the previous owner didn`t take very good care of it.

Mine tested good and has been fine.

Ah gotcha. I need to probably do that on mine along with diffs and P/S. Has 108k miles now and not sure what's been done other than what I've done.

Have you ever looked into the Nicktane Cat filter adapters? I put one on my truck just for peace of mind. The filters are only $10, last 10k miles, and filter much better than the Delco's.

Yes I have.
I used to have a huge list of things I wanted to add to my truck...filters exhaust, gauges, trans upgrades, turbo. But never had the extra cash and we only drive that truck, so any downtime isn`t a option.
And it runs good plus we tow with it a lot, so I leave it alone.

It does have a Diablo Sport tuner, I set it on 65 hp tune and left it there.
I did the Kenedy air box mod and the transfer case pump rub fix. It has a 1 1/2 lift the rest is stock.

Was going to straight pipe mine but didn`t know if it was going to be to loud or not. Thanks for the honest review!

Oh BTW. Look up Transfer case pump rub! You should fix yours if it hasn't been done. Mine was starting to wear and my Father in laws 05 was worse!

Not really. And there is a great write up on how to on DP.
I used the cheap plate you can get from Kenedy Diesel.

If you would like more info I could dig some up for you.

Please do, when you have a moment. Thanks.

Your welcome!

The Merchant kit is very nice and expensive too!
Just use the plate...works just as good! And that is what Inglewood transmission uses as well!

He is one of the best ally rebuilders out there!

Bought some new shocks for the old girl!

Only had time today to install the back set but Wow what a difference from the worn out Ranchos that I had on it! :thumb:

way cool Dean, with your location and local roads, those are a great investment!

Hey do you have a link for the t/c case wear repair?

Yeah I wish we would have got them sooner! Different truck already. :thumb:

I'll get you the link I used to fix that case tomorrow Dave.

Now you need a windshield, so you can see which potholes to avoid... :D

This is what I used Dave...

After you have a look at those links...disregard the part about using Merchants kit..."very nice pieces but unnecessary"
I just used this plate to replace the factory clip that breaks and went with it! I have done 3 with the plate and they have been good! :thumb:

You could get that plate from Kennedy for 50 bucks but if you poke around a bit I seen them for 30 in the states. Just cant remember where?

Wish I would have gone with those rather than the ranchos on mine.
