I know he is a member here and I like watching his videos but I am still going to hassle him. Here's his new video :
He got his hands on a nice 1991 V3500. It's a $10,000 truck. A decent one but it's still a rust belt truck. It can be yours for $55,000. High as a f-ing kite.

As the owner of a 1991 V3500 crew I think that's madness. Buy a new Silverado with that kind of money, not a 30 year old dinosaur.

I saw a post he made about it on FB. One owner, mint b/s, if it’s so original why is it srw front and drw rear?

I followed him for a while but once he got on the free junk train and started making commercials I quit.

Exactly. Once you move past the "unicorn" thoughts and really look at what it is, the price is crazy. It's not fully original, has a sketchy lift with front blocks and there is definitely rust under there.

He’s on crack.

It’s funny in much earlier videos he’s complained of truck prices going up and yet he still pulled this stunt. He is now officially part of the problem. He’s trying to be the squarebody Richard Rawlings shooting for the moon with that price. He’s been lit up on his ig account and doubled down on his stance claiming those whining about the price don’t know what the prices for these trucks are now.

The fact that he had done zero work to clean it up or put the right front wheels on it further illustrates his intent. He’s just trying to play the slick used car salesman technique going on and on about clean one owner rare 1991 only 4L80e, blah, blah, blah.

When in reality it’s a 100k 6.2 that’s a loose balancer away from shelling the whole thing. Anybody in their right mind would spend half as much on a low mile early duramax and have money left over to SAS it and still have some money to spend on upgrades.

He does some cool stuff but he’s going for a money grab here hoping some doofus is willing to pay the price. Next up out of the gas monkey playbook is the claim to need to sell the truck so he can save the shop.

He could have taken a lot less heat with a slightly different approach. Put it out there what it is but don’t post the price. Request dm’s for serious inquiries and go from there. Totally not his style.

Hope it rots in his lot.

I think the unfortunate reality is if not him, someone else would try the same thing. Everyone trying to make money. Wonder if ‘Robert’ knew the intentions of the truck (flip) when he sold it to Merrick

I made mention of the price on his IG post and he responded "guess you won't need my bank info" Yeah, no I won't need your info.

I watched him when I first bought my blazer 4 years ago but I don't watch his channel anymore. "You can do this in your driveway" yeah, we can but WE don't have people sending us parts. This stuff is expensive and he is just adding to already crazy prices for these trucks.

Once I found this forum I had zero use for his channel or his Squarebody guru nonsense.

I think he's gonna hurt himself monetarily when people unsubscribe for that kind of bs... bilking some barrett jackson mentality for a mostly original rig... full nut/bolt proper resto? have at it.. all original, old rubber, rust around the corner rig, not a chance... especially that mill...

What a nice guy... "I do this for the love of the trucks" sure changed a bit.

All his "knowledge" came from this damn website for a small yearly fee. Now he monetizes the relatively free information he got here for his own personal gain.

Yea yea yea we all have to eat, but shit, kind of a douchy move and the arrogance in his replies is too much.

Unfollowed, as if he cares. He hasn't made a good vid in a long a time. So no loss.

I wouldn't crap on anyone trying to start a youtube channel, lotsa work, possibly a big upside. I will say I watched the first couple of Merricks vids and never bothered to subscribe. It would seem a little success has not improved his content, or his personality. As his personal tech library, we here at CK5 may not be his ideal subscriber base though...

$55K for a 6.2 rig? Cracky McCrackerson might like that price...

The arrogance is strong with him.

That’s pretty douchey to me. I hardly watch his stuff anymore because it’s a 20 minute infomercial about what new freebie he got.

I will admit the front blocks with the reverse arch springs is a nice touch. I find it funny it’s got a Nevada license plate on it, but it’s a one owner truck from Michigan.

I was patiently waiting for a post about this. I watched his video last night and seen him get totally obliterated on Instagram over it.
Bummer, I seriously liked his content and am an avid watcher and sub’d years ago.
Will be interesting to see how this plays out. I too was skeptical of the “unicorn” status he describes it as. The junk tires, locking up brakes, jacked up front end lift like wtf dude.
