I’ll sell my K5 for 55k but that’s only because I don’t want to actually sell it.

At first I was going to give him the benefit of doubt. Like hey, I have to list stuff “for sale” so the wife knows I am at least trying to sell it. Input a ridiculous price on it and I don’t even get calls. “Yes dear, it’s listed for sale, there hasn’t been any interest at all”

I know nobody is going to buy it. And I get to keep it and simultaneously not get divorced.

Sorry but I can't find the Tahoe seat template, I thought I'd saved it but I guess not. It was originally posted on the "k5chevyblazer.com" forums but that site appears to be gone now. I'll keep looking around, it's got to be out on the net somewhere. If I find it I'll save and post it.

I have it somewhere just don't know where.

I do get where he is going with the "rare" of the truck but I don't think it's worth half of what hes asking.

Rare doesn't always mean valuable. Pretty hard to find a rusty old pinto these days but I still wouldn't give anyone money for one.

Here is a thread for a rear seat mount

He flashed the plans on one of his videos about the seats too. Not sure it's legible enough to copy though. Glanced at it on tv watching it. I don't like how high his bracket is. I want to try and make it lower or mounted into the floor more like the Tahoe/Yukon/Subs are.

does the 1.5” get it to the lowest possible height? Or can it go down a little further?

I think he needs to go back to GVW school, he thinks that truck weighs 10,000 lbs :doah:
I caught that too. That truck had a gvwr of 10,000 pounds. A ‘22 1500 Silverado with a 5.3 also has a gvwr of 10,000 pounds or 13,000 pounds with a 6.2 gasser.

But I’ll say this even though it’s rated for 10k doesn’t mean it will be good at it. A 6.2 oil burner at full gvw rating would suck when you hit a mountain grade, just as bad as a 5.3 trying to do the same job on the same hill. If towing is the main goal for a possible buyer, there are MUCH better newer trucks for that money and less that can tow way better than 30+ year old truck with one of the most anemic non-turbo diesel engines ever built.

But 10000 pound gvw rating does not mean the truck weighs 5 tons.

You guys are really hating on this guy. I guess that is what happens you you throw all on the line to try and make something of yourself...everyone hates you for it. I do not think he said $55,000 firm. His video said if he did some work on it he may get as much as $55,000 or less depending on how much he does on it, or what the demand is for it.

I did notice those front lift blocks, but I am sure Merrick knows about it, and they will get removed.

Not really, I was even fine with it up until he started commenting on his own videos unabashedly being like “I am Mr. Squarebody” “nobody knows this market like me” “imagine harder” I thought he would be above all that but apparently not.

The price isn’t the whole reason here. It’s literally what he wrote to people in the comments. To buy a vehicle and sell it for triple what you paid for is fine who cares. But to literally say you know this market better than anyone else even though you yourself wouldn’t pay that ridiculous price is just silly.

Yeah I have to say his reaction is what’s bringing on most of the flack. Had he handled it differently the response would have been different.

But when a good chunk of your business model relies on exposure from social media taking a shitty attitude is the wrong tactic. Totally wrong. Go back and read his responses on his IG account. We are not exaggerating that his approach has a tone of I know this better than you do and he’s not ashamed to share it.

It's the attitude to the warranted pushback on the price, not the price itself, ridiculous as it is on its own.
