Re: MOTHER $%^&ING PIECE OF $*#@!!!!!!! rant

Did the same shop do all the work? If so, then make 'em fix it. It's their screw up! /forums/images/icons/mad.gif

For what a/c work costs I'd make the shop fix it. /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

Re: MOTHER $%^&ING PIECE OF $*#@!!!!!!! rant

Overcharging the system or adding the refrigerant too fast (slugging the compressor) can cause the valves to fail.
Problem is a lot of shops wont warentee their retrofit work if the compressor blows /forums/images/icons/frown.gif Its hard to prove its their fault unless they installed a new compressor made for 134a or freeze 12 which is mostly 134a anyhow .

You can probabally fix it yourself for a lot less than a shop will charge. I sugest converting to straight 134a and getting a compressor made for it.
Be careful buying a compressor from your local auto parts store. many of the ones they sell wont run 134a and are not warrented if you do.
