My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

Bought some more stuff....

Finally broke down, and just bought chrome stuff.
I got sick and tired of places ordering me the wrong sh*t... :surepal:

long tubes have a big performance edge over shorties, and even Tri-Y's.... I've always run long tubes over the yr's..

but in recent yr's I've become MUCH more receptive to the idea of running shorties in some circumstances..... better than manifolds but the same convenient package basically as a manifold... long tubes can be a pain in the arse on multiple front's...

never had some, but I've always had the impression that JBA builds a good header...

They're QUALITY pieces, Paul... At least these ones are. :waytogo:
*Having seen hundreds of sets of headers, in my time.

Makes sense about the long tubes having a performance edge.
At the level of 'performance' this build is, I think the free shorty's fit right in. :D

If I was to go north of 400hp, I'd probably be rethinking way more than my choice of Headers.:pimp:

yup, good call... heck, I run manny's on Mutt.. the K5 will get some fancy custom long tubes tho...

those'll be reworked Hooker comps sent out to Jethot.. should be about 6 bills all told.. plus my free labor...

As usual... Just about everything fought back, today. :doah:

The driver-side header always cleared the frame.
But I had to clearance a RIDICULOUS amount of the PS frame.
So much so, that I need to re-enforce the underside of the frame, at that point.

Whatever.

Then, the ARP TH400 Torque Converter bolts didn't fit my aftermarket converter.
Great.

Then, my fuel line didn't fit.
Dandy.

Thank GAWD the Tranny mount bolts, Carb Linkage bolts, and Valve Breathers were right.
I think I probably would have killed someone, if they didn't fit. :haha:

Yea man... I finally relented, and just started dropping $$$.... :doah:
She'll run soon.

I had no f*cking clue how hard it was to get the RIGHT sh*t!!!
With Full-Size 4x4 stuff, it's all tailor made....

Classic Chevy, with A/C, and a Big Block...

What is this AC you speak of?

Is that that big ugly thing that doesn't do anything but put tension on my PS belt???

Lol good point haha. I don't even mind the hot any more. Just the itch from fiberglass lol.

I had a buddy that worked in a hockey-stick factory.
He used to say the same thing.
The never-going-below-90* was fine... It was the fiberglass that gets to you.

I commend you guys.
Ill put up with some sh*t, and take myself to the edge of dieing for stupid stuff.
But, I HATE being itchy. :haha:

Keep at it mike. Your doing a damn fine job
Thanks, man. :thumb:

I'm doing it.
One step forward, and two steps back... But, I'm doing it. :haha: :pimp:

I've got Hooker comps in my 79. I think they were closer to the passenger shackle than I would've liked, but not close enough to cause any issues. Definitely wont be any issues if you mod them I'm guessing.

Another 200-some-odd dollars, on shiny sh*t...
Because APPARENTLY the industry got together and decided that Chrome,
Is somehow going to be cheaper than OE parts.

I'm sure some guys LOVE that... I'd rather have nice OE stuff.
But, I guess shiny it is.

Flexible TH400 Dipstick, with locking cap, seems pretty trick tho... :waytogo:

I did my damnedest to make sure that everything I ordered, fit.
So, here's hopin'....
