My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

Who's got FREE 'OE' TJ Coils, coming in the mail?... I Do!!!! :woot:
Talked to an ebay seller friend of mine, and he's shipping them free, to me.

Jeep TJ Rear Coils are a direct bolt in replacement spring, for 67-72 C/10 Trailing Arms.
No modification necessary, and you get exactly 4" of rear drop, over factory.

So my drop is free.
Absolutely free... Because I'm cutting the front coils, for 2" of front drop.

Not counting shocks, which I had to buy anyhow.... This truck doesn't have any. :haha:

Please, avoid the cutting springs lecture.
1 coil=2" drop...
I know about spring rates, I know more than 1 coil is bad.
I know more than 1-1/4 coil, and you can have alignment adjustment issues.
And, I'm aware of the soft handling characteristics of a chopped spring.
Especially these factory springs.

I'll be running dual-stage(?) gas shocks, so that'll help it a bit.
Bear in mind, this static drop is only temporary, as the ultimate goal is to be on bags.
Which will happen, eventually.
Just gotta collect the parts over time.

Should look good, when I'm done building my 454 powered 73 we should have a smokey tires contest haha

here she is

Allright I gotta ask.... what photo chop do you use cause a lot of what youve put up has been sweet.

Meh, I have heated coils to lower a truck and cut them as well. People blow the dangers of it way out of proportion.

Looks real, right?

It's an iPad App called "Superimpose."
I brush out the lower portion of the pic, then slam it down and blend the upper.
After that I process the light/sharpness in "Deluxe Editor".

The sharpness is what really fools the eye, in my renderings.
I should add that I studied/used PhotoShop type programs, since I was 8.

*My mom worked in a Photo/Design shop, for my entire life.

My freaking springs can't get here fast enough! :haha:

Can they get there faster than your motor can run? :D

I say get it to the point it can move under its own power first, even if it's just up and down the driveway/street, and then worry about the fancy and fun stuff.

This was a hard lesson for me to learn. You remember your remarking on my springs and the ride quality. That was several years in the making, after I tore off perfectly good springs and put on 52's and 56's (and ran out of money and got divorced and whatever, which contributed to the delay :D )

But still, do the basics first, like making it start and run.

I'm using this logic:

- The rear springs are bolt-in replacements.... Maybe 15min's there.
- The fronts oughta take ~2hrs.... No biggie.
- It needs an alignment anyway. Might as well save money, and do it ONCE.

Makes sense, to me... :dunno:

And, I'm going to issaam's this afternoon.
So, it should be done VERY soon...

I've been avoiding driveshaft mockup, for a couple weeks, now.
I'm pretty much terrified of what I'm gonna find... :haha:

But, I have to do it.... Ugh... Here's hopin' it fits.

If you are using the shaft that came with it I think it is longit had a sm465 so the th400 is longer.

So Mike comes over and he needs a power steering pump, so I look at the shelves and say well let's see, I have 6-7 one piece, and here you go 2-3 remote reservoir style, so he takes one of the remote reservoir style.
Then he needs an A/C compressor, so I have 5 of the A6 style, couldn't remember which brackets were for the BB and which for the diesel so I gave with one of each to try on.
He says: Of course you have 5 or 6.
Why would you have any less.:D
Well hopefully I have him set, he will still need to get a new MC for the breaks, it's one item I encouraged him ro buy new.
And he will need to get the driveshaft redone, but shouldn't be too bad he has all the ends so retubing or shortening is all.
Hopefully he should have it running in 2 days.
Fingers crossed.

Fwiw.... I've been up since 6am, researching what brackets go to what.

Gotta see if this power steering pump works with my bracket.
We'll see.... :D
