My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

Just cleaned the crap outta my garage.... :D
I'm gonna need the space for the motor, and trans rebuilds. :deal:

Taking the Beast apart oughta be interesting...
Never stripped a truck before.

So....

The truck is gonna stay brown/rusty for a little while.
But, will ultimately be this color.

*No chrome, or AutoZone taillights.

My moms truck, the one I learned to drive in, was always primer-grey.
As soon as I saw the above silver, I was hooked.
It just clicked. :D

This is EXACTLY what I'm going to make it look like.

*It ain't no Foose-rendition, but it's exactly what I want.

My stock big block with straight pipes sounded exactly the same:confused:

Hey, Issaam....

My friend is dropping off a torch and a trailer tonight.
Me and Dan, are gonna cut the tub/frame up tomoro.

I know you said you wanted the roof, from halfway up the A-pillar,
to the bottom of the B-pillar. (At the top of the bedside.)

But, where do you want the final cut on the rear pan section?
Where it meets the bedside?
Or maybe an inch or two of the bedside, too?
That way you could trim it yerself.

You wanna just come down tomoro? :dunno:

I need to get this truck stripped as fast as possible.
Before my neighbors take notice. :haha:

If you answer your phone we could figure it fast

I am sorry to hijack, but can I ask why you 'killed' the beast??? I could not believe the pic you posted of it. I must have missed something! I was shocked to see the stripped tub! Sorry, just would like to know.

Al that nice paint was hiding a LOT of ugly.

The frame had been twisted and broken in too many places, too many times.
The body was shot.
NONE of the frame angles were right.
It would have taken another 3-5k to get it where I wanted it.

I wasn't spending any more time, trying to build a K5 into a Buggy.

In 2-3 years, I'll build a true Tube-Buggy.
After we get a real house, that doesn't have my in-laws in it.

Besides.... I have a LOT of friends that wheel.
I can always go wheeling.
I'm more of a passenger/photographer, anyhow.

That and it's time for me to build something else.
I've been so *bleh* with the Beast, lately....

I took a deep loss on all the components, because I'd rather they be in the CK5 community.
Well not that big a loss... I did trade the motor for some JBA Headers. :deal: (Thanks, Mike!)

Just for a head count:

K5CJ5: 350TBI.
1970Worthog: NP208, Front Driveline.
NorCal_Chris: Both axles, X-over steering, Springs, and Wheels.
Deuling: Rear driveline.
Imiceman44: roof.

700R4, I'm keeping for spare parts.
Glass, was all bad.
Topper, leaked.

Seats, Ignition, electrical, steering wheel, radios, lights, etc... I'm keeping.

The rest is scrap.

Your always welcomed in my truck bud!

Im horrible at snapping pics anyhow.

I wanna see if my dad can just keep the rims at his place so i can show you my old truck and how it sounds.
I had to "quiet" it down when i live in an apartment and still got daily noise complaints :haha:

bed piece? :crazy::whistle::D

and I'm looking very forward to the 70 build. I love the dropped first gen c10s. But I'm in the crowd that runs 18s front 20s rear with very clean stock body :D
