I coulda been done today, but I wanted to take my time and not miss anything. :D
Figuring out all my 'project specific' circuits is fun... :rolleyes:

Ya know... Cuz I had to add:

- LED CTSY lights, underhood lights, toolbox lights.
- Headlight Relay Mod.
- OBA.

In addition to all the factory circuits.

Wow dug. Nice to see the progress. This will be a rockin little ride. Overall how is the new harness to install? Do they give you plenty of length or is there much splicing to do. Just got a new harness in for our 47 ton and a half and may be doing that this weekend (or next). Depends on the fishing reports and weather.

Counting down the 127 projects between me and my blazer build. These threads keep me motivated.
 
Well... Here's my review:

- the wires are labeled clearly and oil/grease/chem resistant, but the labels wipe off with engine oil.

- This harness is designed for a late-model Chevy, So I had to trim or extend about 60% of the wires.
*Headlight and Ign. switches are both in different spots, etc.

- The "Tail Section" wires are "long enough" for a longbed, if you route them right.

They make it CLEAR in the 'instructions' that YOUR APPLICATION is CUSTOM.
And, that THE DIRECTIONS are GENERAL.

But, they do their damnedest to be vague, when it comes to where the wires source from.

Examples:
- Power Antenna has NO power.... It's designed to be attached to a 12v Ign Hot...but, they don't tell you that.
- They fail to note which wires are hot in Ign, Run, or Constant.
- The instructions tell you that Antenna leads to antenna, and wiper leads to wiper.... No, sh*t.
- Oh, and little shortcuts, to cut costs... Those erked me, a little.
*They deleted the "Dome Return" to save $,
they stopped printing the 'worksheet' in the booklet to save $,
They cheaped the f*ck out on the connectors.... DO NOT USE THEM.

It's a good kit. I really is.
The harness quality is GREAT.
Just as good as Painless.

Where they saved the $$$ (and, it transfers to you) is the cheap-skate connectors/VAGUE directions.

I wouldn't say it's as good as painless with those problems. The painless kit comes with factory connectors, plenty of wire for every circuit, and basically step by step instructions. Yes that's probably where the price difference is but in my opinion it's worth it unless you're doing more of a custom application.
 
Well that explains that lol so they don't have a kit for the 67-72s?
 
Its called a UNIVERSAL kit for a reason... Painless harnesses are application specific.
 
Still need to attach stuff...

I'm gonna wrap the bundles, once I know everything works.

Stayed up late... I wanted tomoro to be all Stereo and Front End wiring. :waytogo:

Just need to install the Gauge Cluster, and attach the Backup switch and OBA.
Then, in-cab wiring is done.
The big yellow wires are for Power Windows and Doorlocks...which I don't have, yet.

I can't wait to get carpet in here, and never see these wires, again... :haha:

nothing removes rust like muriatic acid... use at your own peril, experience is everything...
