My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

People that dont line up valve cover t-handle bolts drive me nuts as well. That and spark plug wires not being in line and all that. My OCD goes into ludicrous speed.

Decided to go red.... I like this better than the "woodgrain" covers. :D

HOWEVER:

Some jerk, not me, snapped half a header bolt off, in the head. :doah:
Now,I have to extract it, or something.

They were also kind enough to strip the threads of another bolt bore.
Thanks, previous owner of these heads!

I think a silver or gray would suit the heads better.

But yes the valve covers look much better than the wood imo

You will love that motor, till you have to put oil in it. I hate mine because of that. I have the newer Vortec covers on mine, with the little pvc grommets like yours, and have to use a tiny d@mn funnel to dump 7 quarts in. Sucks.

And another thing, instal that water crossover from waterpump to intake now, its not near as fun with it in the truck and everything attached to it.

I like the vc's...

but I give the headers about 4 hr's till that's burnt off... :haha:

Bahaha, your being way to optimistic. I say an hr, very tops. I cant get mine to keep paint no matter if I sacrifice chickens, drizzle it in virgins blood, pray to Allah with my Budda statue, doing an American Indian rain dance and finishing it off with an Aztec human sacrifice. But maybe your paint skills and knowledge knows something mine doesnt.

carbide drill, punch the center of the broken bolt, start with a small pilot hole and work up til you just have the threads remaining of the bolt and use needle nose pliers to get it out, had the same problem on an old truck of mine.
