My '70 C/10 - The Rat Bastard... [Won't Idle.]

Woohoo!!!! Finally getting some work! :woot:

I'll be gone for a week or two, but at least I'll have money when I get back. :D
Im so tired of being broke.

Hopefully, I can make a decent name for myself, and get somewhere.

Doing what?

My buddy knows some farmers up north, in Trinity.
They need a mechanic/fix it man.... My buddy put in a good word,
So, I'll be headed out in a few days.

Also, the Chevron by my kids school offered me full-time employment.
But, they have to get their ducks in a row, before they can officially hire me.

The old man that owns it died, his son who's worked there his whole life is having health issues, the other two fellas are older, and the young guy quit.

They need a younger guy, to do "the young mans work." :haha:
I just so happen to be a regular, free to work there,
and have had 2years exp. working a corporate 7-11 store...

The guy was like... "So, Do you wanna work here?" :D

The chevron is in a decent area.
It's not a trash magnet.

Okay... Couple questions.

1 - What is that 3/16" Vac. Port for? (upper left)

2 - what is that port in the middle for? (The nut looking thing)

3 - I have these 3 ports available.... I have AC+Heat, 4 tubes... What goes where? :dunno:

Also... #4 -
does the vaccum port on the intake manifold, between the Carb & Dizzy, go to the brake booster?

Big port on back of carb goes to brake vac booster; front on my 86 goes to vapor cannister- you probably don't need it.

What p0ps45 said...that is where by brake booster is hooked up. I don't have a vacuum canister, but my 3/8 port goes to a pcv on my valve cover. I was told I don't need it, but I left it connected rather than plugging it.

This is about where the lower heater hose from my heater core is hooked up on my small block 400:

the top hose from my heater core goes to my radiator.

pretty certain the 2 currently open NPT holes are fine for heater hoses... iirc, early 70's stuff didn't have any heater hoses to the rad, both on the motor.. that came later...

you live in sacra-fokin-mento, it's hot as balls there all year long. What do you need a heater for?

I've noticed other not 72 parts on my truck as well, so one of the PO's probably grabbed my radiator from a later model too.

Not bad, just different I am hoping...? Never overheats, so it can't be too bad for my situation.

So, the back is the brake booster... That makes sense.

But the nut on the front is the fuel intake.
At the very least, that's where the filter was attached.

The port on the lower-left is the PCV, to my knowledge.

But, what about the small vac port on the upper-left, in the front?
And, the one on top of the intake manifold?

So based on my 73, I don't know how similar it is to yours, the top NPT on the intake is the top heater hose and the NPT fitting on the pump is the bottom one. The smaller front port on the carb I use for PCV, its a good idea to run a PCV, but this is also based on my engine having a Holley. I don't know if any of this helps, good luck.

Yea... I got it.

It's kinda like "pressure goes to pressure, return goes to return."
The vaccuum lines are all "ported and manifold vaccum, attach as necessary."

Is that easy.
I just made a stupid, is all... :haha:

I was trying to apply diagram logic, to a "follow the rules" situation.

Just ordered fuel line fittings from Summit.
They should be here tomoro night, or Monday.

I think I got f*cked on my Trans Cooler, cuz it aint showed up yet.
I need to contact the seller.
