My '73 K10 Build

Got the oil pump pickup installed.
Def the easiest way to drive that puppy home.


Looks good.
While I was taking the two bolts out for the legs, took the whole oil pump cover off and filled the vanes with assembly grease.
Ready.


Took a look at my transmission cover.
Def not a 6 bolt unit.

I’d taken some time at scrubbing the floor pans clean of dirt, and grease, over the last month.
I treated the rust, and used a rust converting primer… so shot some undercoat on there too.







Thought I better start prepping the OEM pass side gas’s tank.
Pulled the sender… it was better shape than I thought but I have a new one anyway.





Inside of the tank was also better than I expected.
Need to clean it out and RedKote it.

Busy late summer, with travels, and family visits.
Back at it now.
Got to take a shit at the pass side header.
It’s fighting me hard.
Tricky to get the bolts in… but found the #2 header was a little too close to the chassis rail, so marked it and removed it again.

Opened up the header flange holes a touch, “Massaged” that #2 with a mallet and dolly,




Took the opportunity to degreased, scrub and paint that pass chassis leg too. Won’t be able to do list later.

Started planning the exhaust routing.
Printed these exhaust tube models, I found on Thingyverse, so I can pie cut the sections better.
