My 86 K5 build

I want to add just a simple tube that comes down and bolts to the wheel well just to add strength to that middle tube (referencing the last picture)

That's it for now

Are you going to plate that tube on the wheel well?

Yeah. I probably won't get an actual cage plate like I have been using with the other tie in points. I will probably just make a simple plate with scrap I have laying around and just bolt it to the wheel well. Once again, just to add a little more regidity to that long tube that connects the back with the "middle".

Top Truck Challenge

Hey All,

Just wanted to let everyone on CK5 know that my brother is in FOURWHEELER magazine this year for Top Truck Challenge. He is #10 in the lists. Anyone's help with some votes would be much appreciated. If he gets in I will be his co-driver. Thanks everyone, and good luck to the rest of the people that are in the mag too!

Y'all have my vote as soon as I get my hands on the magazine! :thumb:

That's not the brother I met at Joes's Crab Shack is it? Good luck either way!

Thanks nvrenuf!!!

No, you met my oldest brother who lives here in CO. This is my other brother who is only 17 months older than me who lives in WA doing his residency in Pathology right now. He bought his jimmy while we were rooming together while doing our undergraduate studies. While he was in medical school he bought some rockwells and completely built the whole thing. He has a detailed thread on pirate. We are pretty excited to get this far, hoping to get in the event :D

Way cool! Consider it done.

Thank you very much :thumb:

You can count on my vote also!!!:waytogo:

P.S. can you vote online? If so do you have a link?

If it's the same as last year, no you cannot vote online. It has to be an official ballot found in the pages the the FOURWHEELER magazine. I have not recieved my mag yet, should be here today or tomorrow. But you can go buy the mag at a store. It should be the April issue and should hit the store shelf this week, I would assume.

Just got my FourWheeler magazine in the mail last night. I am for sure voting for Mike (raiderblaze i believe?? :dunno:) with Thumper. Got to represent the CK5 crowd. Looks like there should be some good people and capable rigs that could get voted in. My bro and I are hopeful that we get in :saweet:

I'll have to look and see if the ballot is in the store issues

It should be the exact same. Once you find the issue (it's the April 2015 issue FYI) it should be the last page of the TTC article. You fill it out, then cut it out to the mag and mail it in to the address that is listed on it :thumb:

Let us know what you find. I need to redo my sub for that mag anyways.

For sure you do

Oh, and I wanted to tell everyone that even though my brothers rig is all tubed out, he will be fabbing on chevy fenders front and rear to make sure he meets the new rules of TTC. He was planning to do it anyways, but this will force him to do it a little sooner :D

Made connecting tubes down to the wheel wells. Just cut my own little plates out and bolted them on and cut and notched a tube

And finally finished everything and painted it

And as nvrenuf requested, a pic showing the back seat in and unfolded

I am sure as time goes on I will probably add some tubes here and there for newer seats and new belts, stuff like that, but overall it's done :pimp:

Outstanding! Hope I can get one built in the next year or 2.

Thank you sir! I wanted to see where the peak of the "C" pillar was in relation to rear passenger heads - perfect! I can see myself copying your design in the future. Too bad you don't live closer.

Anytime. You can copy all you want, that's why I even have a thread is so people can get new ideas. If you ever have any questions as you start yours, would be happy to help any way that I can.
