My 86 K5 build

Nice doors! ;)

Your tires look much bigger in person.....

It's cool that you won the tube doors but I liked the half doors better aesthetically. How does the weight and visibility compare?

Finally read the whole build thread. It has come a long way. Great work! It has given me some ideas for my truck.
Great job!

sounds like it was a great trip overall, glad to see the rig is working as it should.

For the rear shocks, I assume you're going to inboard them?

and those tube doors are bitchin, nice score :D

Yeah, the tires do look bigger in person :D

Weight is about the same as the half doors, visibility is a little bit better. The big thing I really like is that I can open the doors from the inside of the rig. It was kind of a pain to reach around and try to open the half doors while sitting inside, so I would always just jump out. Now its a lot easier . It's kinda nice that I have full doors, half doors, and tube doors now...lots of options

I was going to inboard, but now I am thinking I may just keep it simple and change the mounts on the axle and just get some better shocks...we will see what I end up doing though

My brother put together a pretty cool video on youtube of our Blazer Bash trip in Moab, UT. Sorry, I can't embed this thing into here so you will just have to click the link (if someone who has the capability wants to embed it here, feel free

Sweet video :waytogo: that tow rig is pretty sweet what engine is in that?

It has the dt466 full mech in it. It was pretty sweet driving around Moab in that thing towing our rigs around. We got A LOT of looks from everyone, haha

My bro was nice enough to put together a bunch of random clips of my rig in Moab at Blazer Bash (raw video, no music). Check it out. Once again, I can't embed so either click the link or if someone wants to embed this for me, that would be cool too

Little update. Since we got back from Moab 3 months ago, I really haven't touched this thing, especially cause I just picked up a 89 V3500 that I building into a tow rig so most of my time has been spent the start of my parts gathering for that thing. But I did put my wrap bar back on (broke that off the first day in Moab) and decided I needed to get some better shocks.

So I picked up some Bilstein 5125's for all four corners

I was thinking of in-boarding the rear shocks, but decided against it and just welded some new tabs on the axle side:

And I installed some of ORD's new rear shock braces. They were really cheap and now my top rear mounts are dual-sheer instead of single sheer like they come from the factory

Other than that, nothing new with this thing. Hopefully will head out for some snow wheeling this winter...we will see

Mounts look good. I like the double sheer. I thought about going that route, but no longer than mine will be at the factory location, I opted out.
