dremu said:How you gonna do the U-bolts on those? Are you gonna run them around the axles and springs, or just from the plates to the springs? Are the welds from the plates onto the axle strong enough? (Looks like 1/2" plate, so I'm thinking yes, but still seems like a LOT of stress.)

M-1028 said:No u bolts, 6- 1/2" bolts sandwich 2 3/4" plates on the springs. Yes there is a little more stress but each plate was preheated and has 8 passes with a Lincoln 210. The housings will rip before these come off.

robert97dodge said:I thought you had to have double ended rams to have full hydro? I read the whole post but I just figured since it was single ended ram it was just hydro assist.![]()
robert97dodge said:I saw a guy at shiloh a few weeks ago and he has a jeep on 44s with 2.5 ton rocks and 4 wheel steering. On the rear he has 2 single ended rams so that way when he was climbing stuff and standing more on the rear tires he can still turn it no problem. You thought about doing that?
M-1028 said:There isn't a huge advantage to running 2 single ended rams so I just stuck with 1.
Big91RustyBucket said:The difference is the double ended ram is balanced. Therefore you have equal turn's and force to both direction's. SO say 4 turn's one way 4 turn's the other. with a single ended ram you lose something like 15% out of being equal in one stroke. and you really don't need 2 ram's to push the tire's.
My last truck had 44" Bogger's welded , and a 2x8" TSC Ram. Worked great.

I got the rear axle mounted and started to assemble the axles when I found 2 of my spindles were toast. They look like the inner bearings were locked up and did alot of damage. So I have to get some spindles and other parts. The first time I'm actually waiting on parts and it SUCKS.

Sounds like you are moving right along pretty good. It looks like I may be buying a full hydro PSC steering setup from Damon that had the black samuria with the red roll cage and now has the camo blazer that was on 44's last time we wheeled together at shiloh. He is wanting to go with hydro assist to make it more driveable on the road. So I may ended up getting my rocks in sooner than I had thought.
