My Junkyard build......York mount made

Good idea fellas! I will do just that :thumb:.

Can anyone tell if this is a hydro clutch assembly? I have a mechanical setup then bought a hydro setup, but it was over a year ago and forgot which is which :doah:

The two extra braces that go to the firewall are a dead giveaway that its a hydro pedal setup up...

Plus the stud for the master cylinder rod to hook on.. The mechanical just had a hole for the linkage

Went to wrecking yard and bought a complete factory heating unit out of a chevy truck. Heater box, control, defrost and floor vent. tore it down cleaned it up, painted it, wd40 the cables, and replaced foam seals, reassembled. I soaked the core in CLR for few hours, then boiled it. Blew it out and tested under 20lbs psi.....it passed :woot:

Hey, I recognize that thing! ha, the previous owner of my rig tried to pull it apart and broke it in 6 different spots, luckily I have a buddy who had an old donor suburban laying in his yard, he said i could have the box. Heat works good now! Hey cool build man! I'm gonna be doing the tpi setup on mine after i build the 383 vortec stroker for it!!

Got the Heater box installed. It was a bit of a PIA due to the front clip being narrowed. It didnt leave any room for stock location placement. I had to cut some sheet metal and weld it to the firewall and move vent holes over. Hooked up by battery charger to the unit and it blows pretty good. I'm mainly concerned with having a defroster. Not sure if I'll feel any heat due to their not being any doors or top lol.

Today I got the engine harness routed. I put it in a loom. Looks clean if I do say so myself. Pic's tomorrow.

I also hung the clutch master, slave, hydro line, and resivour.

I attempted to hang the stock exhaust mani's but apparently you cannot weld up the cracks with them off the vehicle. Now the holes closet to the firewall don't match up. Oh well such is life.

Finally I made my own steering arm out of 1" plate. I took the pass. side off and made a template then cut it with my Plasma. First time I cut somethin' that thick with it. I was amazed at the job the Cutmaster52 did. I think it max's out at 1 1/2".

Ok Ive been busy the last two days and this is what I got done.
1st.... Trans/transfer case cross member made and installed. Made from 2x2x1/4" tube and the lower trans bushing from 80 K30. I used these bushings cause they are only $3 each :woot: Cut the floor to clear the transfer case.

I thought there would be more flex  ......I didnt clearance the body mount behind the front shackle so the shackle hits it, but Im not sure that would get me more flex.
IMAG0991.jpg

Edit* After looking at picture you can see that I wrapped the chain around the axle also. would that keep it from flexing more?

Changed the chain location and seemed to work better. Also clearanced the front rear hanger. Was able to get alot more flex out of it. IMAG0992.jpg IMAG0993.jpg

Now the right rear fender corner is hitting against the tire so keeping it from flexing a bit more. IMAG0994.jpgGotta clearance it tomorrow. IMAG0995.jpg

Going to fab up my York mount tomorrow too.

Cleaned up driveway to make room for Boondock's old truck. Going to get her this Sat. Hopefully be back by Monday night

Decided to mount the York in upright position just above the thermostat on the intake. I chose that position so that if I wanna add another accessory I can on the right hand side. I still need to add some more bracing on the right. It started to rain and I couldn't finish:mad:

Thanks! Build isn't as helpful as most I'm afraid. I'm not really wired to give instruction lol. I have don't make plans ahead of time when I work on truck. I know what I wanna do ahead of time I just don't know how I'm gonna do it until minutes before I do it :-/
