My old man hotrod/dd

Not many people would take the time to modify a carb like that, good for you for applying yourself to the task and enjoying the rewards.

I'm win Greg, that was a very interesting read for sure and even better with the outcome.

Trying to figure out if I can notch the end of my .049 pin to make is like a small drill bit. Going from .048 to .049 diameter is a 5% gain in area. Maybe my 50s will show up, those are a 8% gain but could be used till I get a 1.25mm drill bit.

It honestly didn't take all that long and it did make a big differece. I am too stupid too just go buy parts and too lazy too swap them on. I like taking this G's others would laugh at and making them work even if it is only just a little better. I hope to get a jet size bigger and swap the gears and chassis dyno it. That way I can keep doing new mods and see the gains. Then I will truly know what small mids actually make the difference. I already know the gears will make a bigger gain than a 4 barrel.

I have not but need to. About to go through a Holley in the near future

So after what seems like a month of waiting my 50 jets came in. A 10 mile drive yesterday with one good pill from a stop shows the slight rattle I had is gone. Like I figured it was just a tad lean. Runs good and must take less throttle than before because I keep finding myself running 70+ and I had the pedal figured out. Additionally where passing used to involve lots of noise and not so much go, it now pulls well into the higher rpms. I also did a looks upgrade. Initially I thought I was suppose to turn the letters in to be cool and the coop messed up turning them out. Now Marty has indicated that they turned out the letters because if you turn white letters in baby jebus kills a puppy, a kitten, a baby seal and an angle. I am not sure if it is each one for a single tire or that is a per car thing. Idk I think it looks kinda tough so I may turn the front letters out. Not very sleepy though.

Apparently, at least with 2bbls. If that is what you are stuck with it makes a big difference.

Hell yeah! I'd rock that beast for the rest of my days. I love the barges from that era. My uncle had a 77 Monte Carlo, dark blue with the white 1/2 vinyl top and interior. It was a beautiful car! That was the first time I saw swivel seats.

I'd love to have an El Camino from that era also. We had a 4 door Impala ('75), it had a 2 barrel also. 0-60 in90 seconds lol!

Very nice car there.

I like the white letters out too. But then again, you said I'm ugly one time. So what do I know.
