Nice, do you still have clearence to get to the rear bolts for the gas tank straps? Or are you going to relocate the tank?
i actually cut that tab off that had the holes for the tank straps so i could tuck the bumper in there as much as possible so im just going to drill two holes in the bottom of the bumper that the little hooks on the tank straps can go into.Nice, do you still have clearence to get to the rear bolts for the gas tank straps? That reminds me of the video of a jeep that has been circulating.![]()
i have exactly that,(350 with 85 diesel rad) i bought the flexible stainless hose from a and a auto parts (45.00)for the top hose and used my stock one (turned a lil) and fit right on. i must of tries 50 hoses to see what i could make fit ...then i seen this hose..jegs has the same its 56.( made by spectre i used #865-7791 )
The last mudbogg it ran at 160, just like the thermostat i put in. I used an electric fan from a toyota corolla in front and my stock one on the motor and it works great, even when its 100 degrees out....
I might have to steal that idea when mine gets tubed out down the road. You going ot put some kinda skid on there?
You can use a carb manifold with an adapter plate, I made mine out of a piece of scrap 1/4" plate, but if I did it again I would just pull the tbi manifold. The tbi manifold will need the center holes wallowed out a bit to work with carb heads, its pretty easy to figure out when you got it sitting on there. Grab all the sensors too some you don't need but it will save you some trips. Probably the easiest thing to do is just pull the manifold out with the throttle body still on there, most of the sensors you need are on the manifold. The olny one that isn't is the knock which I didn't even other with. I can't remember about the distributer cause I put in all msd stuff that runs seperate from the computer. If I think of anything else I will let you knowhey what exactly did you need to get for your tbi id imagine wires computer the throttle body and do i need a manifold or what? i just dont want to forget anything at the yard and have to go back

edit: as long as you have the top end off you might want to throw some vortec heads on there. They will give the engine a little more balls
Not really you need some sensors, all the ones near the throttle body a coolant temp and a O2. You don't really need a knock sensor but thats about the only one I remember not using. As for the distributor I think if you have a HEI one you can connect it to the computer and it will work I am not postitve thoughis there any way i can run it without sensors i want to do it the simplest way possible.
and can i just use the existing dizzy or does the tbi need to be connected to it to work?

hmm well im still not sure about all this computer controlled stuff but i know its better than carb so im going to have to give it a shot and see if i like it
