my TRAZER build thread...take a gander

now that got the front suspension done i moved to the back. i took the 56's off the axle and removed a leaf out of the pack and replaced the overloads with other ones i had lying around i got em all painted and i bolted the fixed end of the spring on since im still working on finishing my hangers. im making them the same way howdiy did his except im doing a little more support but anyways i plan on finishing the hangers tomorrow and then ill clean and paint the axle but im not touching the brakes since im gunna do disc brakes in back and i need to gather up the parts. and what do yall think about putting one inch blocks in back wouldnt it pretty much be exactly the same as a zero rate?

what do you mean by spit it out? all ive ever seen happen to blocks is being literally crushed from axle wrap but they were aluminum ive got steel ones
When I got my truck it had 4" blocks in the rear, and they would start to fall out cause of the axlewrap no matter how much you tightened the u bolts. Happened so often it squished/rounded the spring perches

oh crap well im planning on doing an anti wrap bar so i guess i wont worry

yeah it shouldnt be a problem with a 1" block and the beefy perches on 14ff, the 12 bolt perches just suck

well i finished the hangers tell me what you think

next on my list is finishing my rear bumper putting radiator support on and start wiring stuff up

looks pretty good. It's hard to tell from the pic but how's it sitting, looks a little nose high. But then again you still need to add the rad and sheetmetal so it may level back out

ya its a little high in front but i think its gunna level out and even if it doesnt im not going to mind i kinda like the way they look a little high in the front but i was very surprised at the lift i got with the 56's i measured my blazer that just has a shackle flip and 52's and measured the trazer which has shackle flip 56's and a one inch block and its 3 inches higher than the blazer. but i guess the blazer has the fliberglass top and the rest of the truck so i dont know but its higher at that!

Looking good. Are those tractor supply lights I see? I have those on my trailer and they pop out all the time cause I cut the hole to big

ya haha the best deal i could find 9 bucks a light but i cut the hole so they would be super snug and the pintle is courtesy of metro for 10 bucks

You can't really go wrong for $9, I have broken too many trailer lights loading the truck to get anything fancy. I saw you were looking into electric fans, I got my windstar setup (like muddermilitia runs) out of a 95-96 model and they work great. Mounting is pretty straight forward too cause they cover the stock radiator almost perfectly. There are some good threads on mounting and wiring setups if you search "windstar". I have heard good things about the taurus setup too

ya i would love to get the electric fans i guarantee i can score some from a windstar if i make a trip to pick and pull but are they reliable and do they cool the engine the same or does it run a little hot

I have not had any problems with mine or heard anything bad about them, the only place you can go wrong is when you are wiring them up. The draw a lot on start up so you have to be careful how you set them up. A quick search will give you some solid schematics to work off of. My engine runs cooler then stock with these and I usually just use the bigger of the two, they can move a hell of a lot of air. I think I paid like $40 at pick and pull for mine, well worth it, the Ford truck/van place out there had a couple when I was looking too
