My trucks winter build at a glance...

jason how do u like the ar360 plate so far?? any dents yet? do you remember how much that stuff ran ya. im trying to save weight and 3/16 would be alot better than 1/4'' boatsides.

how do you register that thing? Do you still have standard street plates, or an OHV registration?

It's trailered everywhere. Jason lives in Cali so I would imagine he has it green stickered since they are pretty stict about stuff like that:doah:

I guess I'll answer for jason seeing that he is ignoring you guys. :wink1:

The truck is still registered with regular plates. No reason it can't be since it still passes smog and we don't have visual inspections in CA. As far as I know the AR plate has been holding up rather well. He hasn't taken the truck to the scales but he has a good estimate as to what it weighs. You'll have to wait untill he chimes in on that one since I don't remember what that magical number is.

Oh and the 42's have been sold already to a club member.

Cable shifters...

Jason, howd those 2.5 cable shifters turn out? any plans for selling kits for em like you mentioned? if not got a list of parts? Last thing, got any pics of the setup, im going divorced 205 and am going to have to find a way to shift the damn thing:rolleyes:

Cable shifters are not in yet. I'm working on an air shifter setup for the doubler right now. As soon as thats built I'll post pics of it and the cables.

Heres an updated pic just to keep the thread up to date:

New tires are one of the first sets of 47" LTB's. Only have one trip on them so far but I love them. Stay strong little axles...

Next update is I'm redoing the suspension, not the geometry, just getting rid of the junk RE and Johnny Joints. The Johnny Joints I put in less than a year ago are already completely worn out and my front axle rotates a good 5-10* when changing directions! Can't keep the bolts tight either from all the jerking and movement. The RE's in the rear lasted longer but there worn the same after about 3 years now. So I'm going to all 1-1/4 heims to match the ones at the rear of my rear links that are still in excellent shape and QUIET!

The tabs are Ruff Stuff 3/8" plate laser cut jobbies, excellent parts and cheap.

Click the pics for larger versions...

And the last update is I'm working on the U416 axles finally. Got the pinion conversions and disc brake 8 lug conversions drawn up and getting ready to widdle them out of some 6061. Waiting on some high speed roughers to come in for the mill. Once those are done I'll get some pics up and I'll start fabbing the 4 link mounts so they will be a bolt in deal to the truck hopefully.

Oh one more update, I got my new baby. A new Miller Syncrowave 351 TIG machine with watercooler. Can't wait to start making some stuff with that :D

I can't wait to get to moab this year.... I was scheduled to hit EJS this year to but ended up having to cancel due to just buying a house and I'm in the middle of remodeling it...

Wierd, that's exactly why I didn't make it to EJS also, in fact I'm off to Home Depot for more house crap.:doah:
But, on the plus side, I now have a 3.5 car garage! :pimp:

It will be interesting to see if there are any challenges for you in Moab:eek1:

Last year it seemed there was nothing that even made a tire slip:D
