UNfortunatly, unless I change jobs before then, or they hire a bunch of new people I won't be able to make a wheeling trip that far away, working fri-mon sucks sometimes. Then again it sure sounds fun.

Caught the tail end of this deal I would love to wheel with the CK 5 crew when and where . Anytime, anywhere baby!

We are planing on July 13th, 14th and 15th 2007 at Rausch Creek Off Road Park in Joliett, PA Just 2 hours from both Philadelphia and New York City, 2.5 hours from Baltimore. Lynn who is one of the managers has been very nice and helping to see we have a great time. They have made sure the trails are wide enough and want us to have a fun time at their park.

Saturday will be the date but most sound like overnight camping (party) is going to go on. We are going to try to get some companies to come also. Right now I am working with B.F. Goodrich's event group on them coming and bring display.

The park is divided into two parts, based on the topography of the area. A key feature of the west property is a large glacial deposit, called the "Rock Creek". The deposit begins within a few feet of a main access road and extends over 1800 feet. At its widest point, the deposit is over 150 feet wide. The boulders that litter the area are large, and packed close enough together that only a handful of trees have proven sturdy enough to survive in the area. The deposit has been providing entertainment for the larger vehicles that venture into the park and has proven to be a challenge to the best drivers and spotters.

I have also talked to a group of Ram Chargers that went to the park and seen their pictures. It really loks we will have a great time and they do not mind if we drink just do not drink and wheel!

Here is the link to there forum on this trip lots of info on park and pics there.

I have just received a packet from B.F. Goodrich concerning this event and I have some good news and bad news. The good news is they are pleased to participate in this years event. They will also be a part of our future events. The bad news is I need to talk to Their Off Road Motorsports Manager since we aren't having it this year.

He is out till the 11th of July so I will up date you all when I hear from him. Please watch for an important announcement for Blazer Bash and our Summer Blaze event in the next few days. I believe someone will be very happy. I need the main coordinator for Blazer Bash to email me A.S.A.P.!!!

Eek. I just ran the numbers and it's going to cost me at least $400 in gas (if it stays around $3 per gallon).

Better start saving now.

Of course... besides the cost, there's the fact of a 10 hour drive in the Kidney Buster®.
Wears me out just thinking about it. :eek1:

Anybody know where to get a used big-rig air suspension seat??

Because that forum is about Blazer Bash ...

If you're real serious about this, why not ask the boss about a 'Summer Blaze' forum?

When they did the ECBB the posts were in the regular BB forum. But a separate forum wold be nice, too.

Chris from CRB Off Road http://crboffroad.com/ sent me this email re: Summer Blaze.

Hey Lawrence,

Man that place looks awesome! And you gave me a year to save up the gas, that is awesome! You will have to send me a few reminders but it sounds like a killer time. I am definitely interested in going. I browsed the pics and its good to see some xj's out on the trails there too!

Again thanks for the invite and keep me posted!
Thanks for everything Lawrence,
Chris

Now that that is said What other company do you guys want me to work on? I know Warn and I am going to contact LMC also.

Interco?
4WP?
RTM productions (the 'TRUCKS!' and 'Extreme 4x4' people)?
General Motors? :D
Chevy Duty? (Classic Parts of America)

So how does BFG donating tires for Blazer Bash '06 have anything to do with Summer Blaze? Did you just do all the leg work for somebody else's party or do you think we'll be able to get a certificate for next year, too?

Ok still waiting to hear back from some companies. If anyone else has some input would like to hear from you.

I'm still working on saving up enough money to fix my transmission =/ It went caput one day when i tried to move it. I cant say at all if ill be able to go in my own rig yet. if i dont as i said ill probably hitch a ride with someone else.
Iv got 215/month income now plus I'm gonna start getting a few bucks extra from my mother.. Iv already got a debt of 80/month paying for the truck itself.

I'm going to Disney world in September(family clan trip), So after that comes and goes ill get a real part-time job, So who knows... Be a few months before i get a good transmission.

But as for sponsors, Iv got a vote for RTM Productions! Hell maybe we could get em to bring Crazy Horse out(Yeah its a ford, Go ahead and bash =P)

How many people have committed to this trip? I've got family less than 2 hours away from RC but I live about 9 hours away in SC. If enough K5ers are coming I'll make the trip, with prob 2 rigs by then and whoever else I can drag up from the Southeastern group. I looked at RC web site and I don't see much, atleast not enough to justify $65 is park fees, a days journey, and diesel cost.

Update

Two things we have 26 people who have emailed me they will come. This is important so we can keep a count. Next item of importance is that Lynn at Rausch Creek Off Road Park has just issued this update!

We will have the South property open for use on Sunday, August 6.

We will need the cooperation of our members to share this land with the Broad Mt. Hunt Club. They have leased this land for many years and this additional property is very close to their hunt club activities. Basically we need to not drive through their food plots and observe the boundary lines as marked on the property. We also need to not block the main trail, as for now it is one-way, and there's no room for hunt club members on their quads (or for our members) to pass parked rigs. As time goes by we will get the main trail opened up more so it can be run in both directions. For now it will be one-way. There are two side trails marked to shortcut around if need be. Speaking of which, the map does not show every path on this property. They are just too numerous and spin you around in circles. As trails get built, we will make use of those additional paths.

Here is a map showing the additional property, along with the topography so you can see clearly the rocky hillside between the West and South properties. That ridge is very similar to the 101 Trail area, with plateau after plateau, except this area is full of rocks. So far we have opened up one major rock obstacle directly at the top of the ridge called Tomb Stone. We also have hope that there can be a way found to drive up and down the hillside between the West and South properties.

Also open to use is an unnamed Water/Mud obstacle (the one that ate Witter's Blazer), and Lake Christy, which since the map was put together, another easier way down into the lake bed has been opened up.

There are also numerous bowls on this property, similar to Winch Hill on Trail 1, some of the more interesting ones will get opened up.

As you check out this property, keep in mind we scouted this out last April before the foliage came in and saw several areas that rock trails of all levels could be built. I have marked on this map the approximate location of some of the more abundant rocky areas, and the area where we will cut open an additional 101-beginner level area. Fall and winter will be a better time to get in there and build some awesome trails. In the meantime, we have a very nice scenic green loop and a couple somewhat intense obstacles to play on.

That is what I was thinking those from Mich hook up in Toledo and then we head east. I think turnpike east and then drop down at PA line haven't really mapped it yet to get best mileage will do it now.

I am thinking on Friday afternoon leaving for the bash. We need to start working it out. I have a RCI two way (glorified CB) thinking of putting linear (100 watt) in also. Working on my radio mount this week plan on using a military bracket on passenger side.

Here is the kit the one will protect it from branches ripping it off.

Or we could just use FRS radios if not everybody has a CB.
Honestly, my truck is so loud inside, I think any of them would probably be a waste of time.

How fast do you think you'd want to be traveling on the Pike? With 4.10s and 35s, mines screaming pretty good above 60-65mph. I also haven't mapped it yet but I was planning to take mostly surface roads when possible.
