Need some guidance for my Crewcab project

do all crew cab back seats lay down like that? i have a 87 2wd srw 2wd that i originally bought to get the bbc out of to go in my 85 k-10 w/1 tons 465/205, 12'' lift w/44's, but have bought another bbc engine, so now i'm thinking about keeping the crew cab as a running truck..put a camper top on it for camping and use it to tow with.

No it has aftermarket seats in it. Kinda like a conversion van. I am not sure yet if I will be keeping the seats or doing something else. I will most likely go with burb buckets up front, but can't decide on what to do with the rear. It is kinda cool that it lays down but is a REAL pain to do it because of a crappy slide mechanism. Plus it sits higher than a stock seat would. I really like the idea of it folding down but honestly this is a pretty crappy setup and it doesn't function very well. The seat also needs to be recovered. I am really thinking of just putting a regular bench in the back and call it good.

Whoohoo! Just scored a 465/203 combo with manual bell housing, bell crank and clutch pedal. Go to pick it up Tuesday night, the guy isn't available until then. Might just have to do that doubler afterall, just because!

Well finally went today to pick up the 82 diesel 1 ton that I bought. Well sort of. Since it is 3 hours away, I am going to contract to have it hauled to me. So for today I just took posession of the truck and moved it to my sister's house where it will wait to be hauled to me in the next few weeks depending on scheduling. Anyway I got there to get it and the guy said he had origionally had 2 identical 6.2 1 tons and parted one to make a trailer. He said since he was unsure of the condition of the trans in the one I was buying, he wanted to through in the trans from the other truck. I said sure that is cool. :D He said just wait a bit and he would go get it from the barn with the tractor. So I wait about 1/2 an hour and start to wonder WTF did the old man die out there or what? Then he comes around the corner with a complete 6.2/400 slung under the bucket on the tractor and proceeds to load it in the bed of the truck. He said it ran great and then one day started blowing exhaust into the radiator so they just parked it. It has been sitting a while so I will probably wind up tearing it down to inspect/rebuild it. So cool freebie, even if the block or heads turn out to be no good, the extra IP and injectors that I can have rebuilt with no down time is awsome. Plus another TH400 to either sell or use in another project down the road. Very cool!

Going Sat to get the 465/203 combo.

Just got back from picking up the "465/203" turns out that is not what it was. Pics he gave weren't the best. I got there and it was a 465/205(w/bolt on rear yoke) The saving grace on the deal was the bolt on rear yoke. So I got a 465/205 complete, bellhousing to bolt on rear yoke, pedal, clutch, 350 flywheel, and all the linkage for the manual bell except the pivot ball on the frame for $200 total. Then he asked if I was interested in looking at his stuff to see if I wanted anything else. I wound up agreeing to buy two Blazers. Both for $350. Going to go pick them up next month when I get time.

One is an 84. No engine/trans/tcase, front clip, tailgate, front seats, or passenger door. But rust free from what I could tell and pretty straight body.

The other is a 75 full convertable. No engine/trans/tcase, radiator, hood. But it does have the front clip minus the grill. Has rust in the rockers, and some behind the wheelwells, the wheelwells are also dented up from tire rub some and there is a little body damage (little dings and scrapes)

I didn't think to bring my camera cause I was only going toe pick up the trans/tcase. But I am going to have the guy send some pics to me. Will post them as soon as I get them.

So what are your plans for those? Build one or both of them, or just use for parts? I like the orange one, looks like it has potential.

I honestly don't know it was just one of those deals that was too good to pass up. Plus it is the first full convertable K5 I have ever run across. I figure it would be better to have them and figure out what to do with them than want one and not be able to find one.
