So if a nice K30 is worth as much as a nice K5, how is that comparing apples to oranges? That's comparing apples to oranges. In most areas, a decent K30 will bring as much money as a really nice K5.

Anyway, I like my K5 because it does what I need it to do - haul my dogs around in the back in comfort.![]()
Alright, the dude with the blue 1980 k20 got back to me and everything sounds good so far. gonna do a carfax on it and if it checks out im gettn it. heres some pics. specs 1980 chevy k20 f.i 350 700 rf 4.10s 6" lift 37" pitbulls. minimal rust on the pass rocker. all original metal.
Did he give any info on the 700r4 swap? Curious, cause that isn't a stock trans in a 3/4 ton truck, would be a th400. Hope it works out though!
It was like that when he bought it. The previous owner did the swap so it would be more reliable. I'm gonna look into it. he said it runs and drives great. I'm gonna look at it tonight.
More reliable is questionable, the TH400 is a lot stronger trans. That being said, behind a stock 350, a well built 700r4 that is properly installed (read: properly adjusted TV cable) will be a good way to gain Overdrive. Check to see if a large cooler was installed.
If it shifts correctly, and doesnt' look like a hack job, its probably a good thing. Just be aware of it.
I had the 350FI/700/4.10/37" combo and wasn't happy. It's much better with 4.88 and it would have worked with 5.13 as well. Just something to keep in mind.
I think the 1980 model had a mix of front ends. Some were basically 79s with round headlights and some had the square. I thought some of them had some grill features specific to 1980 only.

I have a Great Dane and I'm afraid he'll fall over the edge since he is so tall, so I like to keep him leashed to the seat so he's nice and close to me. Besides, the poor thing would freeze to death on a 60 degree day, so there is no leaving him outside in the wind!LOL my dogs can ride in the back of my truck and I dont have to smell them and they dont get hair all over the Interior lol

DECENT <> Nice.Ok, so I cant read! Don't pick on the dumb guy!
