Re: New Peterson\'s has a nice K5 on the cover.

its a shop here in LA that built it, henerik is his name, looks like they do good work if they can fit you into there schedual. i held on to there # for years and needed work done before, but they were over worked and understaffed and said i should look elsewhere for the work i needed. hope they fixed the issue with all that. seem like a great shop /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Henrik has just expanded his shop and can accept quite a few trucks now. He has done work for me and I am very happy with the quality of his work as well as his tecnnical help. By the way the name of the shop is GM Truck Center in Burbank. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Re: New Peterson\'s has a nice K5 on the cover.

Hey everyone, i took my truck over to GM Truck Center in Burbank, CA, had them do a lot of work on it, you name it they did it. 1 ton axles, gears, locker in the rear, guages, cross over steering, custom cage, wheels and tires, interior, the whole nine yards. I am saving money now to have them build me some of their custom bumpers, like the ones on his truck on the cover of Petersens May 2004 issue. All the guys there are super cool, and very knowledgeable. Henrik made my truck dreams come to reality with a reasonable price tag. Check out the pictures of my white 69 K5 that they hooked up, it is in the gallery section of their website. www.gmtruckcenter.com Love the shop, love the service. /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif

Cage sucks ass. Has no triangulation in it. It would for sure fold over in a hard sideways roll. Nice bling paint though. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif There always has to be one person to cut what somebody else does down. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Re: New Peterson\'s has a nice K5 on the cover.

If you look at the cage closer you will see that it actually is totally safe for any kind of a roll over, it protects the two front occupants totally, the rest of the bars you see belong to the soft top!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Re: New Peterson\'s has a nice K5 on the cover.

Maybe you will be riding with him with the thing caves in.

My point was this...
If you spend that much money on a rig, why skimp on the cage. There was a lot of money spent making the cage look nice, but not much engineering or thought involved in keeping everyone safe.

To the other critic of my post: You are a dumbass. You obvioulsy dont know much about cage design due to the fact that the cage would fold over in a hard side hit. Yes, there is bracing, but no its is not in the right place. There needs to be a bar going from the top corner of the cage behind the front seats and extending down the the floor forming an "X". This would be a much safer cage.

Re: New Peterson\'s has a nice K5 on the cover.

actually i see what hes saying, the bracing looks like there only support for front to back force, but not side to side..

but besides that..its a badass truck! /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Re: New Peterson\'s has a nice K5 on the cover.

Looks like something rjfguitar would build if you ask me.

Re: New Peterson\'s has a nice K5 on the cover.

None of you guys have any idea what the rest of the rollbar looks like inside the truck. It is totally reinforced to the sides, the seats are tied into it and there are supports across the top. If you are planning on being in a crash or roll so violent where that cage wont save you, you should really be worried about the way you drive your truck off road. I would like to see the cage in your truck, IF IT IS SO MUCH MORE SUPERIOR, OR IF YOU EVEN HAVE ONE! /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Re: New Peterson\'s has a nice K5 on the cover.

Who cares if it looks nice. If I had the money and time I would wheel the wee wee out of a truck like that. It doesn't have to be trashed to be hard core /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: New Peterson\'s has a nice K5 on the cover.

There is an a$$hole for every post. Guess you're it for this one, eh? "Everybody is a dumbass. That guy doesn't know anything. I kick ass. Look how much cooler I talk..." How about keeping the negativity for your gay porn site? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Re: New Peterson\'s has a nice K5 on the cover.

Bryan, I agree. The first thing I said when I saw the cover truck was: "That cage will fold like a wet noodle if it ever rolls." But you've got to remember that the guy is a poser, so they don't know any better...

I can guarantee you Bryan wouldn't wheel anything with that poorly a designed cage. The only things clear to me are that you have no clue...and that we should all be cheerleaders for poser trucks. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif It's an opinion site, and it's knowledge based. Bryan shared a knowledgable opinion, and frankly I agree with his comments. I see plenty of things in the mag that scream 'poser'.

It's nice looking, but basically it's a show truck on one ton diffs.
