You know, I joined for advice on my new '72 K5, but I think my membership just paid for itself in laughs. I expected straight tech talk, but not full on panties-in-a-twist mudslingin'. Mighty refreshing at the end of a day's work. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Man.....since when did rock crawling become the official measuring stick of K5's? I always thought the beauty of K5's was their ability to do it all. I also thought this was CK5 not POR.

The main reason I frequent this site and paid hard earned money to be a member is for the knowledge that a lot of you guys bring without being tools about it.

Constructive criticism is one thing, but this thread has been full of mostly nit pickety bi*&hing. All that was needed to be said was "Yeah that's a nice K5, but I think the cage might have some issues" or something to that effect. That truck is obviously a shop truck and it's sole purpose is to show off the work that they do so most likely they sacrificed some functionality for aesthetic reasons.

Sorry for the rant but it seems like lately on this board if you don't thrash your truck you take some heat about it. If I wanted that I'd hang out on POR.

PS - Wheeling does not just = Rockcrawling
Wheeling = Rockcrawling, Mudding, Hilling, Duning,etc

Yup. I'll probably never be able to run Carnage Canyon. Probably never run the Hammers. But as long as I continue to challenge myself and my rig (and my dumbass buddies at the firehouse who drive heeps), I'll be a happy camper. I love watching everybody else duke it out though. This particular thread is one of the nastiest, dirtiest, mean-spirited posts in quite awhile and I LOVE IT! Keep it up!

Rockcrawling does not equal a good K5.

We all believe in modification to prove that you're good at what you do, and that your machine works effectively.

His cage design is poor and since that's the first thing that sticks out into view, people comment.
