New PitBull Tires Introduced

Review...

Just read the review in Four-wheeler yesterday. It seemed honest and objective. I personally have no reservation in buying the tire from a mileage stand point nor from a performance stand point. I think it will do very well off the road and I dont drive on the road enough to worry about it.

However, I think the Rockers direct competition is the Iroc. I'd rather run the Rocker and would love to be the first on the trail with them, but for about $45 more a tire... Plus shipping it seems to have priced itself out for now for most people. Sure if you are in competition it works, especially when they are given to you. Us poor folks don’t have the luxury though.....lol. :cool1:

i hear ya

Pricing is dictated by each dealer...and we're setting up more all the time. Don't know about Colorado Springs though...I seem to recall that we're talking to some people about it.

As for shipping...when we set up a local dealer in your area...there shouldn't be any shipping..if that dealer buys enough quantity...which isn't a large amount. And for $180 more per set...is that worth it if your tires work better on and off road, have better off-road traction, clean out better, hold the rim better, are bigger & fatter tires (so you are actually buying a 35.5" OD and 15.25 S.W. with a 12" Tread Width...versus other companies' smaller true specs... and a bias tire that can flex...but because it's bias you have strength which means...a tougher all around? In fact, because our tires flex more as they heat up...you will have to change the air pressure over time as you break the tires in.

I guess what I'm saying is that you can't compare our 35x1450-15 or any of our sizes directly to anyone else's sizes. Our tires are bigger and fatter TRUE specs...so you get more bang for your buck.

Compare the specs above on our 35x1450-15 Rocker to other tires out there...you'll see what I mean. Specs for this tire are based on a 10" at 30psi.

Cool...

Oh yeah I don’t doubt your tire nor its size. In fact I'm going 39.5's and really like your tread depth. And I actually live 20 min from Denver.

Just talked to your guy at your dealer here in Denver. Super nice guy and said very good things about you El. He is more than willing to work with me and meet where we need to to get the product out. I will for sure be an advocate for this guy and his company here locally (buying these tires or not). Working together in the community... don’t-cha just love it.... :D .

I'm actually pretty excited about running these. I mean I truly think that the Iroc is a BA tire and works... but everyone has them.

El...

Went by and talked to Dick, great guy. He showed me around their warehouse... man if there is a tire made they have it sitting in there, no doubt. Anything from a PitBull to an airplane tire to a tractor tires bigger than my Jeep (literally).

Any way he calle dup a rep from your company and the rep told him that they wouldnt have the 39.5's for another 3 weeks or more? Said that the mass production of the 39.5's had not begun yet. I was under the impression that they were ready to go?

Any way, I've got one question for you... How in the heck do you get a 6 ply Bais Ply tire to be that flexable? Man that was like pushing down on a radial. In fact he had a (mortal) 35X12.5 radial sitting right there and it did not flex, pushing down on it, near as easy as the PitBull 35X14.50. Sure I know its wider, but its not by much and yours is Bias ply. He had a 35X13.5 Thornbird there (waste of rubber BTW) there as well, pushing on it was like pushing on concreat.

So El... when ya going to make these puppys? I'm ready for them. And dont skip the "HOW" question either.....lol.

Specs...

El,

Something very important, to me any way, is the exact specs for the 39.5's. You dont list this on your web site, can you give it to me please?

Tread Depth= I know this one, 24/32nds.

Tread Width= ??? Actual teadth width Lug to Lug (in decimal inch not counting side biters IE... 12, 12.8).

Over all Diameter= Actual (in decimal inch IE 39.5 or 40.3 whatever).

Side wall to side wall width= 14.5, 13.8 or 14.7 ??? (again, in decimal inch).

Thanks man. I really am digging this tire but these are for sure things that go into a final decission, thanks for giving it to me or for finding out.

specs/release dates

Glad you went over there and saw their place.

Our tires do flex well...ancient secret. Radial tires are a waste of time. Bias tires that flex are best for 4x4.

Anyway...as for specs...I'm working on it. It's not as easy as looking at the blueprints and coming up with a number. And when I get all the specs for all my tires...I'll release the information on our website. It's going to happen in the next week or so...I hope.

As for production on our 39.5s...end of April is correct for the target on having them out. They are currently in production and have been for quite some time. Testing takes a while to make sure that every tire is exactly at optimal standards. Sure, we could kick out any old tire...but we don't want to do that. We want them to be exactly right. So, that means that time schedules become flexible if you know what I mean.

I know it sucks because it's taking longer to get all the sizes out there...but my feeling is that you guys are paying good money for our products and I owe it to you to give you the best product I can for your money.

El,

I have been following this thread for a while and wanted to take a minute and compliment you on how you have been handling yourself and representing your company! I think it's great that your willing have this exchange and demonstrate your support for the "Average guy". Your quote (below) is a perfect example!

As new tire time approaches, I will seriously consider your tires.

Thanks for for keeping us updated and keep up the good work! :waytogo:

Here, here to Hickman's statment. I raise my class of water along with.

Specs: This is out of the May issue of Four Wheeler Magazine for the 35X14.5-15.

Tread Depth= 22/32nds.

Tread Width= 12.0

Over all Diameter= 35.5

Side wall to side wall width= 15.25

To my surprise the tread Ply is only 4 Ply. Is that why it is so flexable? I hope the 39.5 is a 6 Ply. Other wise the same spec with 24/32's tread and 39.5 or better true height I'm all over that.

Bottom Line on the tire (Strait from the Mag):
"Maybe we were lucky and hit all the trails at the right time, but it sure seems that the Pit Bull Rocker is a great all-around tirefor those who want or need an agressive tread. That it also behaves very well on the street was an unexpected bonus. Either way, the carcass is supreamly flexible, offering a comforable ride and--in good old bias-ply fashion--envelopes obstacles very well for great traction. FW"

appreciate the positive comments. Actually, the tire is a Load rating of "C" - 6ply.

Some of the 35" 16, 16.5 & 17 tires are shipping to certain dealers in the next couple weeks.

sizes

Working on some bigger sizes...end of year availability

As for 39.5s...waiting to hear back from the production manager at the plant.

new size

We've decided to make 39.5x1650-X Rockers rather than 39.5x1450-X Rockers.

Average specs are as follows:

OD = 39.5+
Overall Width (side bulge to side bulge) = 17.25"
Tread width = 12.8

We are in the process of working on tall and thin tires and other sizes for late in the year.

Bummer... to wide for me I think. Kind of takes me out of em'.

Not to mention...

The Interco's run much less expensive and are proven. I was getting pretty excitied about running these actually but for the money diff and the size diff I gotta pass. Plus I cant afford to need to buy more later, my next set has to be on for a long time.

Also the newest review I just saw on them in Petersens ONCE AGAIN says they are a 4 ply tread. I know you have said they are 6 ply El, but the reviews are not????

yep

I can't speak for the reviewers...our 15" tires are Load Range C and our other rim sizes are Load Range D

As for the last minute changes...sorry fellas. The good news is that we are working on other tall and thin tires.

But before you make a decision....I'd doublecheck the spec information on other companies' tires before you say not to the 39.5 Rockers.
