New Ride! 78 GMC. *The build thread that never was?*

They are way better than the people driving five miles an hour every where.

Silly little video of me moving the truck around when we had the snow a while back. I figured if I was going to get stuck in my own yard I better get it on film. But I didn't.

I just read through this whole thread, and I absolutely love everything about that truck just how it is, it is almost my dream truck.

Prepare for a spiel

My dream would be a red, green, yellow, or black two tone with white 73-80 Silverado/Sierra K20 with either white spoke wheels or white steel wheels with hubcaps, with 32x11.50 Super Swamper SSR's, at the factory height. Factory Cab lights, factory full size west coast mirrors (call me weird, but after having them on my F250, I would have them on everything, even Blazer if it wouldn't look like it's trying to fly away) I would want one of the older push bars, (just like the one you got rid of, I can't find one anywhere here)
Interior wise it would want to keep everything original, even the fake wood, but with a saddle blanket seat cover. A newer 40-channel Cobra CB mounted on the ceiling, ran to dual 70-inch whip antennas on the mirrors.
Powered by a high compression 350 with either three 2-barrels or 650 Holley. Or a big block with dual quads.

It's probably unhealthy that I have such a detailed plans for a truck that doesn't exist, But I don't care.

Anyway, I love your truck.

Thanks! I have equally unhealthy plans! I just cut wait for this thing to actually aquire some of those plans! It's just going to be so fun! It already fun, but it will be way more fun before too awfully long. With any form of luck and planning, I'm really hoping to finish up my suburban by late summer/fall. Then I can finally focus on this truck! It's just going to be so insane when it has the lift, tires, piant, fuel injection, etc etc. When i finally have the suburban and this truck done, I plan on driving tye burb a majority of the time in the summer, this a majority of the time in winter, and the 12 will fill in as needed. I seriously can't wait. Its what keeps me going.

You can make what you want exist. It just takes the will power time and funds to do it.
I have almost done it with my K5.

My last name is Gisi. Pronounced like Geasy. Some friends call me geese. In other words you can take your pick. Mitch, Mitchell, Gisi, Mr.Gisi, Geese, etc.

OK...here's your first scene :haha::

Scene 1

The kitchen smelled of coffee and scrambled eggs as Mitch got up out of bed and dressed. He sleepily lumbered towards the kitchen where he could hear his wife clanking dishes…he bumped his shoulder into the door frame as he walked in…half asleep.
“Jim called”, she said.
“Yeah?”, Mitch asked, “What did he want”?
“Said the fishing trip was off, said he had to take one of the kids to the doc-in-a-box”…she told him with a glimmer of disappointment and half a smile.
“That’s just great….juuuust great”…. Mitch sighed, “Guess I’ll fire up the old truck anyway and take her for a spin just to get the oil flowing through her a little”.
Mitch ate his eggs and sipped his coffee till he reached the final swig. He got up and walked over to his wife and put his arms around her….he liked the way she looked in one of his old flannel shirts…and nothing else. She let out a little shreek and said “Jesus your hands are cold”….she flashed him and said “I am going back bed”.
Mitch thought he would too…but instead he looked out the window and around the yard…snow blanketed the whole place but it was a wet snow and sort of laid heavy on everything like icing on a cupcake…
He looked at his old ’78 GMC…had been his father’s. It reminded him of his father and for a moment he was lost in a little dream when he was 8 years old and was riding in the truck with his father to go buy some fertilizer to put out into the garden…
He snapped back to reality and just stared in a blank stare for a few moments….
He put on his field coat and grabbed his keys and shut the door behind him. The snow crunched under his feet as he walked towards the truck, the air was cold but fresh…he breathed in a large breath and held it and slowly let it out through pursed lips.
He grabbed the door handle and pushed the button and swung the door open with a creek, and climbed up into the driver’s seat. The snow slid off his boots onto the old carpet on the floor.
He could see every breath as he fumbled to get the key into the ignition…he turned it over a few times and it finally cranked…the growl of the 8 cylinder gave him a feeling of satisfaction as he punched it a couple of times. He leaned over and opened the glove box and pulled out a giant bottle of Tums and flipped the top and shook two tablets into his palm. The wife’s coffee was good but it was beginning the burn as it settled into his stomach.
The big GMC rumbled like a dinosaur waking up and the round headlights lit up like giant eyes…and it rolled through the snow and onto the highway like big animal crawling out of a swamp and onto dry ground.
Mitch headed East and pulled the visor down….

Wow! That gave me a real chuckle! More importantly, I can picture it all perfectly! Amazing! Haha! Next scene!

you have to film that one first....better yet you gotta get somebody else to do the camerawork...

there's bound to be a shark in this film somewhere....

I hope it's Ok, but I put your scene on my Facebook cause I liked it so much. And I'll have you know that I have gotten many very positive comments on it! People have said they wanted to keep reading!

Somewhat of an update... Got some better tires to replace the really wore out ones that are on there now. They are a little wider too. Should make it look more burly.
