NON Chevy’s in the Wild

My Brother had a 1980 MGB ( I never knew what the difference was with the addition of the “B” ? ) and while he was away attending business in Desert Storm for Uncle Sam and I drove it for a few months while I was putting a SBC in my old FJ40 TLC - at 6-1” and 200lbs. back then it was a tight squeeze.
I drove it with the top down mostly not because I liked it but it made it a whole lot easier to get in and out of.
First, the MGB is the bigger convertible, the MG midget is the tiny one.
Then you have the GT which is the hard top coupe.
And yes even the MGB is small but it was fine with me at 5' 11" 170lbs, but it was much better with the top down

I’d would’ve never made it in a regular MG then!

It had a motor out of a 69 MG of some sort with dual Webbers on it - it wasn’t what I would call quick but if ya rev’d it high enough while running through the gears it was kinda fun.

My uncle has 2 MG’s, a later model Midget convertible and an MGB GT coupe, both are in excellent condition. He’s had the coupe since he was in college, he’ll be 70 this year.

I had a couple of those with the idea of doing a hotrod Lincoln.
Then realized that the 4.6 engine is a great long lasting one, but a MF to actually work on/modify.
Maybe an LS swap...

Bump sudes never had an extended cap. There were a few crew cabs, I think those were gov contract so not many surviving

I’m guessing it was a Chevy duramax chassis based on the front suspension and how much frame you can see. It had a big dia exhaust turn down at the back of the cab

Yeah, I missed the 6 lug part. Since there’s so much frame showing I thought it might be an HD chassis and missed the lugs. I guess it’s just a body swap onto a C1500 of some kind (I don’t remember seeing CV shafts).
