Not a Fitech-Now a Sniper 2 and boat anchor

Heading to Morris Mountain on the 12th with the Georgia Trail Riders, looking forward to being the oddball.

I started hanging some sliders and a jack mount.

I slid the mount for the tire over and bent some pipe to brace it back and provide a place to fasten the bar of the jack. The bucket it sits in is two pieces of roll cage floor plate and a half ton leaf spring top ate from the scrap pile. 1/2" hardware to secure it. The upper mount is 1/4" with a 1x1/2" piece of bar that mates I to the jack.

For sliders it's all 3/16th with some 1/4 angle at the frame.

The front is drilled out so the cross member BT's can pass through it.

Also picked up a Tuffy fairlead tag mount. The kids gave me a Cowboys tag for Christmas. It's nice, mounts under the snap rings on the vertical rollers.

dude whats up with them welds for the jack mount stuff ? ? ? :zombie15:

looks to me like you need tad more heat and tad less wire speed to let them burn in and not glob up .

Yeah, not my best welding, I'm going back in later to fix that. I swear, sometimes I just can't see. I tweaked my helmet when I was working on the sliders and I feel like the picture improved. Thanks for the help.

Darker shade the better. I use 12. 10 I can't see anything but a big white blob

I actually dialed mine from 13 to 12 last night. So maybe I'm getting on the right track

Back from Morris Mountain ORV Park:

Blazer ran flawlessly, the driver not so great. Broke my new tag and slapped a tree and bent my hi-lift, the mount for it, and something is super loose in the spindle now. I wanted out of the cold so I'm not working on it today, but it feels like a bearing blew apart or a race shattered in the impact and allowed the bearing to move around. The swing arm is loose despite the nut on it being cotterpinned.

The handle survived but the bar is trash. Having the doubler made most of the obstacles trivial. It really kicks ass.

Good stuff man, I love Morris Mtn! Lots of funs there, one day I'll take my Blazer instead of my wife's Jeep. :doah: Is that first pic The Good, The Bad & The Ugly? It's crazy you bent that jack like that but didn't touch the body. :yikes:

First pic isn't GBU, but that was the one I bent the jack on. It was still rain slick so nobody could even get a start on the Good section, we all went up the piece to the right.

Another Hi Lift pic, funny but dammit.

File this under “Better lucky than good”

When I got home from Morris Mountain I could hear some belt squeal.

I pulled the Blazer out to work on the other stuff this weekend and check the belts.

I guess the fix here is to go to serpentine and get better brackets.

Is there a bracket combination that I can run for just Power Steering, and a CS144 Alternator? I know I'll need a reverse water pump. Van brackets, 4.3 brackets, car brackets?

So far I think this is the best list.

junk yard parts run 4.3 -up small blocks get the brackets / h20 pump / cooling fan and clutch / pulley only for p/s need a puller tool / alt / and look for a non a/c delete bracket-pulley that bolts in place of a/c comp / crank and h20 pump pulleys also.

need to remove the p/s pulley first then the pump and last get the hidden bolt behind the pump no way around it.

save all the hardware also. just in cause.

and some will be studs with inverted tork';s drive on them.

otherwise basic bolt on swap and your old p/s pump will be just fine. even if running hydro boost.

I got the serpentine on, new pumps and alt, drove about 95 miles and something between the trans and the axles has blown the hell up. I have shifting but I have one bang per revolution of the drive shaft. It was pretty exciting when I was going 60. Not so fun now.

I broke a mirror two weeks ago and so far this has happened and I backed into a Prius, got a ticket for it and had a 30+ hour network outage at the hospital. Weird.

That sucks!!!!
Ya thinking ring and pinion???

Damn I hope not! Noise sounds right by me, like Trans/TCases.

Local Sheriffs showed up, wrecker is 30m late. He's calling their guy. Blah.

Well , I know that sometimes the driveshaft can cause a noise to ring in a different place.
I hope that you can get an answer quickly.

Strapped the Go Pro to the frame when I moved it into the shop today

Volume warning!

Listen on the decel when going forward, you can catch it after the engine idles down.
