NP 241 shifter...

Pretty much sets it for me. My trans has to come out anyway so I’m flipping the 241 shifter around.

I have a 203/205 boot too on mine too but it’s ratty. I’ve got another one that’s in better shape I’ll put back on with it.

Thanks for the inspiration guys.

Who has done this and is able to measure before and after? looking at the pictures again, and the way the bend is and where its located... does it really make much of a difference??

I'll be flipping mine around this weekend since my trans is out. I'll take a measurement and pics before and after.

I really like that about my 79. The 203 has a flush mount shifter. Nice not having that klunky ass t.c. case bezel.

Don't mind me bringing this thread back to the top of the pile. You have Martin to blame for that, but a good sign shop could totally replicate the NP203/205 shift pattern on a decal/sticker. Once you put that on the shift knob along with the trim ring and boot from LMC (or wherever), from the interior no one would ever know that it is a NP208 or NP241. Sneaky sneaky!!! Of course the shift pattern would be different. Obviously, if an old NP203 or 205 knob is threaded the same then you could just swap them out too. I have a graphics guy so the decal is easiest for me.
