I think it is very unreasonable on your part to think that something like a website should be updated instantly when the prices they pay could change on a weekly basis.

Updating a web site is not like repainting a billboard. It should take less than 15min at most. Its all about service and good business. How many times do customers have to get the wrong info before you change it?

I think the prices should be updated as soon as they change. Its on them to have things correct on their site or things like this happen and they lose MANY potential customers.

Unreasonable? This is 2007 for crying out loud.

If they know what the price is when you call, it should be changed on the website. If it changes weekely, same deal.:deal: It's a couple minute job, AT THE VERY MOST. If it's not, they need a new website or providor, because they are going to LOSE business if the price on the web isn't the price when you call. Period. A good portion of their business is coming from the web, I would venture the large majority, but I don't really know, but there isn't any reason the price shouldn't be updated, hourly if need be!

Doesn't ORD do a lot of footwork for Blazer Bash? I believe Wrench-Head was saying they did all the catering this year.

Guess I am saying this thread should be balanced based on the company as a whole. Might want to give them a chance to reply before it goes too far.

Nah, let's all jump on the bandwagon and bash and assume the worst without hearing the other side of the story. It's way more fun that way. :surepal:

Nobody has once thanked Stephen et al in this post for their hard work and commitment to the betterment of a sport we all love. Nobody who has only had GOOD experiences with ORD has stepped up to offer a different perspective, either. I'm sure there's gotta be at least one or two of them here at CK5.......

Just a casual observance, but it looks like the website isn't updated very often anyway, so I called my order in. Prices had changed, but weren't too outrageous, and I got exactly what I had ordered. Parts were top quality. No complaints there. Maybe took a little longer than I would have liked, but I did order around EJS, so I expected a delay.

ive spent lots with ord, and the only reason i do go elsewhere is there pricing. Its expensive and there hard when it comes to a discount. I run a company that uses internet for advertising and to be quite honest, i dont put prices up on the internet for this reason, it causes a lot of confusion when stuff changes and it makes the vendor look bad. As far as i see it the pricing on the internet should stand. The add did say thru jan 5, 2007, the same day that beaterk20 made the order.

I wasn't trying to bash. In fact, I will still order all of my stuff from them when I can afford it.

Wow. I had nothing but good dealings with them...

Same here. I've always received great info AND great products from ORD.

Hourly You got to be joking.
There is not a business around that sits and changes prices on the web site hourly. Should it happen in a short amount of time YES.

I don't know when the price changed and it doesn't matter when the price changed. I am going to guess that the price changed with the new year.
Even with that it still doesn't matter.

They put on their web site that prices are subject to change.
People can't manage to read. It's not in fine print either. It's right there.

I don't have specific examples but I am going to go out on a limb and guess that there are a great deal of companies that have pricing disclaimers and wrong prices on their website.

If you guys think that this type of thing is bad try ordering snowmobile parts. I recently ordered several parts from a large and well known aftermarket manufacturer/supplier.
I was shipped 1 wrong part, not called noted or anything that the other two parts were back ordered. When I called to find out why I had a wrong part and was missing the other two I was told they were back ordered and sorry about the wrong part. Go ahead and send it back and we will send you the correct on when we get it back.
So was I pissed. No. I understand things happen. In fact I am still laughing about it because everything with aftermarket stuff on snowmobiles goes this way.
I didn't even get on a web site and post up that this had happened. I guess I should that seems to be the way we do things here in 2007

I've ordered quite a bit from ORD as well... $1000+ I don't remember whether the price on the web was the same as when I ordered, but I asked what it was on the phone and it seemed fine to me then. I do see how it would be annoying to find out something's a different price by a few dollars, but it's always that way. The radiator I got yesterday was the exact same situation. It was $20 more expensive than on the web. (radiators.com)

Since they don't actually stock the springs, I doubt they call TC everyday to check every single part number to see if the price has changed. Who has time for that?

The sad thing is the only thing that will likely result from this is that they take all the prices down and replace them with "call for quote".

ord has kept me happy over the years. no real problems with shipping. no real price problems. fitment problems taken care of asap. sent me free stuff from time to time ( stickers) . but i will think long and hard for my next order as these past few months have had some bad press on there part. sorry but its not right to service people like this.

we need stephen to post up on this in hear. and hear from the hourses mouth what is going on in lala land.

and i seriously doubt that Tuff Country changes their prices every day, or even every month for that matter.

I'm willing to bet their prices are more dynamic than you think. What is the main component in springs? Steel. Ever kept an eye on the market price of steel? It's up and down ALL the time.

On that note, you've obviously never ordered a market-driven product. When I was getting tin roof quotes a few years back, they would only give me a 10 day quote, because that's how often their price list changed.

Regardless, one mixup does not a bad company make. I ASK AGAIN- How many people who have complained in this thread did not have their situation resolved?????. I'm still waiting for an answer on that one.

Another note. Do you guys know what this kind of attitude will bring on? Stephen's just gonna delete all his online pricing for good, just like so many other companies have done. And that's gonna be great next time you want to price stuff out and budget the cost of a particular mod.

I use website pricing as a guide not as stone. With ORD I always call my order in as well as DIY4x that is just the way I am (I usually have questions that need answering anyways). I too have done over $1000 in business with ORD and have had no problems with anything I was even told that not all spring bushings where on hand and was given several options for a remedy. Customer service was great with all of my dealings with ORD.

I seriously doubt they would do that. Less people would buy stuff from them. I've never "called for quote", just because I like know before I get on the phone with someone if I can afford it. I feel like there is nothing worse that saying "I need, so and so. Wow, that much, well I'll have to save up more money and get it later. Sorry for wasting your valuble time and mine." Thats what the internet is for. Convience and privacy. No hassal shopping, but with incorrect pricing on the net, it becomes very frustrating and untrustworthy.

miniwally, you say that pricing on stuff you buy changes all the time. That may be true in your part of the country but I know down south we still depend on straight forward stability and honesty. Maybe its just a southern thing that we still hold our word as our honor. If I hadn't needed the part I was ordering from ORD and had not all ready given all my info, I would have said nevermind and went looking somewhere else.

I'll give props to ORD. They were the inovaters with mods for our trucks and the fullsize wheeling community, but if its grown too much and customer satisifaction is not #1 on the priority then maybe its time for a change. Maybe just cater to the locals and not those coming from the worldwideweb.

actually Paul, you seem to forget that i spent nearly 3 years behind a parts counter. i bought plenty of parts, both from wholesalers, and manufacturers. when prices changed, there was notification made of it on rather short order. be it in the form of a phone call, a revised price sheet, something.

FWIW, there are ~200 prices on the ORD website. its not all that big of a task to set up a spreadsheet with those items, check the pricing, and then transfer them to the website.

after stepping back, i think what really pissed me off the most is the attitude Stephen took with me. i was as polite as a miffed customer could be, and then he comes at me with the attitude. that basically told me right there, i dont care about my customers.

for someone who makes their living selling truck parts and accessories, i would think that they would keep up on things like oricing on my website. i know i wouldnt want 200 calls from window shoppers looking for prices.
