OFFICIAL* Dante's Peak Suburban Build *

Yeah, but it has Rally Wheels on it. I don't believe you could get Rallys without the beauty ring. It would have had stamped steel wheels and hub caps.

Monday the parts came in from LMC and I took the side molding kit up to paint shop. He had it all masked and in the booth. Today (Tuesday 11 March) the winch and recovery kit was delivered.

So all but one part has been found, bought or donated to finish the build. That leaves the tires! I have decided that I am going to use the Mickey Thompson TTC radial Claw tires in 33x12.50 15R LT 6ply on it.

Little more aggressive side wall than original but tread is closer. All I have read on the tire sounds good especially the low growl on highway. I took the money I had gotten from selling ammo to help a person in emergency so tires may not be done by the debut date.

Now comes the putting it all together when Mayboca finishes the paint job. We just had a small snow storm here too! :doah:
What were the origanal tires? Are they no longer available?

If you look at about the 1:00 o'clock position \/ you can see 33x 12.50 R15 LT Wrangler changed the tread in the smaller sizes.

Those are LONG gone. Even the HMMWV 37's were replaced years ago.

I just noticed some thing in this picture. We know the truck had rear AC and power windows. But look at B rear heater.

Zero rates are on the way. Couldn't find the pins so I ordered a set from ORD and they will be shipping directly to you.

Well here are a few updates. The best is saved for the last.

The rear lift springs ended up as going to need re-curved. So with the cost factor (almost out of build money) and time running out we are going to go with a set of lift blocks on the rear.

Now for the best update! The truck painting is almost done and will be finished in the next week. The frame, grill area and black items need to be done yet. Here are some pictures.

You're putting an inspiring amount of effort and diligence into this project. Hope we can see you at Blazer Bash this year. :D

Depends at what gas is running then. This has cleaned me out. I am still trying to figure out how to cover the tires. I had $700 towards them and stepped up to help some one out so I now have $400 of the $960 to get them $120 of that is the shipping.

But as I told a person the small loss is cool because I have been blessed and it was the right thing to do. The Lord has his own reason and moves in wondrous ways.
