The lady and her daughter both came out with coffee cups when I pulled up in front of their store. The lady was an extra in the bridge scene and was pregnant with her daughter when it was filmed. They took several pictures for their facebook page.

Well every thing went ok. The bad news is we lost to the General Lee and Roscoe's cop car! Lost points for the center of brush guard not being done. lights not hooked up and not having the receiver on.

Learned you need things for car shows that say "Be sure to vote for us on peoples choice. Small things that make the people part of it (now where can I get some Lava for next time).

We got beat out by a local with two cars. The General Lee and Roscoe's cop car. They got 1st and 2nd place in Special Interest. We got third place.

The town wants the truck back for the 20th anniversary of the movie (2016). We did make the local paper!

Close to 20 years after its filming, “Dante's Peak” still resonates with people in Wallace and around the country.

Saturday at Wallace's 29th annual Depot Days, Lawrence Carlock of ColoradoK5 unveiled a replica of the 1988 Chevrolet V10 Suburban that Pierce Brosnan drove in the film.

“We wanted to keep the truck alive and keep things going,” Carlock said. “Part of that was to acknowledge Wallace, and we wanted the premier of the truck to be here, and here we are.

“This movie has affected a lot of people in a lot of ways. They remember it, the truck, the water crossing. Every person has a little something different that they've taken away from it.”

Carlock said the group has been working on the truck for a little more than a year to have it ready for the festival.

From here it makes several miss quotes one the Mayor said and it was attributed to me.

Sounds like those good ol' boys that mean no harm won the show, but you won the town. ;) Besides, now you have plenty of time to perfect it and win the show in 2016 :thumb: congrats brother! Third ain't bad for a first timer either.

Congrats!!!!! BIG TIME. I'm thinking that because you can drive through the river and the General Lee can jump it you should've at least tied for first place. Forget Roscoe.

Seriously though, JOB WELL DONE!!!!!

I don't see how the Roscoe car can be considered an accurate recreation since it's not wrecked. Plus, the Charger should be able to sustain serious damage in a jump and then be just fine 2 seconds later to be considered accurate.

That being said....did the Suburban cross a river? :haha:

Looks like a pretty cool event to conclude the build. :waytogo:

very cool Lawrence....I'm proud of you and the CK5 gang for pulling together to get this done! YOU are living the dream man!

I can appreciate the General, but really it seems every car show has one....can't say that about the DP Burb!
