OFFICIAL* Dante's Peak Suburban Build *

do like I did and lokar floor shifter that bolts to tranny and I positioned it up threw the same hole as the 4 speed was . even reused the 4 speed shifter boot .

black lokar shifter double bend . it fools so many people that its a stick shift . and I love to rest my hand on it . . . since its auto you can do that and not hurt trans over time .

post #11 for pics https://ck5.com/forums/threads/whos-running-a-floor-shifter.14167/#post-3320093

and for about the best deal I found back then . and they even swap knobs for the price difference NOT full new price . http://www.rjays.com/Lokar/lok-nos-shifters-01.htm

Lawrence's goal is movie authenticity. Since the movie ran a column shifter, I'd bet he'll want to do the same. But that's just my guess. :dunno:

Looks like the engine will be here thursday. I'll be back from Phoenix Sunday and the pictures should start rolling in!

It's going in my truck tomorrow.....

:haha:
Make sure you turn up the heat in my shop!

Somehow the lost engine showed up today so now there is 2 sitting in great falls. Hopefully my friend picks the best one and sends the other back:cool1:

Is it to much to ask for a picture of the "crate" motor before it gets inserted? Also thank you

Is the trans going to my house greg?

I am still waiting on word on engine parts. We are getting close to putting this thing together.

Just joined this forum because of this thread. I am taken back by the sense of family amongst the members. I'm quite a distance away, but I would like help in any way I can. How can I donate money, parts, etc?

Welcome to CK5! I, too, was taken back by the sense of family here at "the brotherhood." That is my primary reason for sticking around here and checking in regularly.

If you wanna donate parts, I think we have all the needs covered right now.
If you wanna donate funds, send a message to Russell. He has been keeping track of the donation pool for this build. Well, most of it, anyways. ;)

And if you're ever in SW Colorado, send a message to Lawrence (metrodps), and he'd be happy to show you the truck in person. :waytogo:

@Greg Ducato You rock Greg! Thank you so much for your support!

I think the only parts we are missing at the moment is accessory bracketry and some exhaust bits... Thanks again for all your help Cole! I'm so sorry this got dropped in your lap... Stupid border patrol!

Haha it's all good russell. Just wondering if I'm boxing up those old manifolds. If I send them back I'll need manifold gaskets, course all the air stuff too.

So parts list

Exhaust manifold gaskets
Oil cooler adapter gaskets
Rtv
Flush "I'd like to clean the oil cooler out"
Black engine paint
Air pump stuff if it's saying
That accy bracket stuff. I think that should cover it.

I got scrap laying around to fill the shifter hole

I'm planning to pull the air pump stuff off my donor TBI. What kind of "stuff" do you need?
