OFFICIAL* Dante's Peak Suburban Build *

I managed to snag the auto column and brake pedal before the snow hit today out of a parts truck. I'm sure I'll be getting called into work tomorrow so I don't think much will get done

That big white box in the bag in back has a nice Classic dash with all the goodies in it.......
OK got the Linkage from column out side down to the side of transmission so we still need the rods and wiring for tranny and braces. He was going to use that stuff on his. And I have the shift indicator stuff too let me know what all you need or want me to send and I need mailing info.

Really? When did that enter the picture? Somehow I missed that.

So...you have all the shifting linkages AND the PRNDL as well?

I think that eliminates me from this phase of the build. All of my donor parts have been rendered unnecessary. :dunno:

Lawrence,

I know you are replicating the suburban in the movies, but I would like to sponsor you a dash setup for the suburban.

Please let me know where to send the setup to.

JJ @ Classic Thunder Road.

I still need a column that is kind of part of this build though haha
Wait I am confused I thought camfire was going to send that??? Then you said "I managed to snag the auto column and brake pedal before the snow hit today out of a parts truck". I am so lost (but that is nothing new I am part Indian When some one said who are you they'd say We're the FaKowe).

Campfire was going to send the column, but I ended up finding one locally to save us both shipping. However I still need a junk column of any sort to put back in the donor so it can be steered around the guys yard

Oh yeah, I'll dig that one up.

@Metrodps, I agree it's confusing, I originally offered everything they needed to do the auto swap from by diesel suburban (even my blown 700R4 as a core), but piece by piece the list has gotten shorter each time I've talked to Cole. I'm now down to zero parts contributed except for that 3-way shell game with the steering columns. Which saves everyone on postage, but has been confusing to say the least! As I told Cole,

I'll just sit, watch, and throw money at the build from a distance. :haha:

Trying not to make it too confusing...

Anyhow. More things I touched exploded... Hopefully someone can get this all back together when I'm done!

Totally forgot about the gauges. Guess it's been a while since I read through the beginning of this thread. It's getting longer all the time.

The rods that I have measure the same as my 700R4 in my '70. I believe that the plates are the same even though I took these off of a vortec 350. Would you like me to send them?
