Hey I thought the joke was funnier than hell, Spencer is a standup guy.

And for all you internet tough guys........ grow up

money talks bullsh!t walks ,sorry you didn't get the truck dude but thats the way it works I've had more than my share of deals fall through from both ends, buyer and seller.

You cant fault the guy for taking cash money , I wouldn't have held the truck for you as a seller. in a situation like that you have to take care of your own interests.

Now had this guy been a CK5'er and did you like that it would be a bit different story

So what you're saying is that you're a hypocrite?

It's ok to hold it for someone IF they are both a CK5 member but otherwise it's not ok.

no no thats not what I meant, if it had been a CK5 to CK5 deal out here in the open and agreed on and both parties were well known on here it would be a bit different.

Now understand its not like he put a deposit down, the seller told him straight up that he wouldn't "hold" it he said he would "store" until arrangements for pickup could be made . but the truck was still "for sale" until then .

It all boils down to being just a little bit late ( in this case because the bank sucks) it sucks but it happens

yeah its ****ty for the buyer but not "wrong" money wasn't in his hand by the agreed time , how is the seller suppose to know if this guy is jerking his chain or not.

I feel for buyer but I can see were the seller would get spooked and sell it "for sure" and not wait for deal to "maybe" go through.

Like I said above I wouldn't have held it .First come First Serve, Money for Title. And by money I mean cash no ****ing around with checks . Pay-Pal is "ok" but cash is preferred.

if i were the seller i would come up with some contract. if someone really wants it and wants me to hold it they can sign it. that way your legally binded to it. i mean were talking waiting over the weekend. if its a month ok maybe thats different. thats a long time to hold something and pass up the cash.

kidjethro your better off anyways you dont want a truck that some dip**** kid has had . no telling whats been hacked or rigged . as a point I tend to avoid "built" vehicles Unless i know the WHOLE history

Think of it as not being the right truck for you , a better one can come along there not that "rare" you'll find another one

i do agree with this. this is how i look at most things that i dont get it. for all you know it could break down tomorrow and cost you 2 grand to get another motor in it

Yeah, I've taking and given "Non-refundable" deposits on vehicles before with an agreed upon date .

but this guy was obviously not wanting to go through the hassle and wanted cash in hand . ( which is his right )

hey

"Unless the guys sells it in the next day or two, It's a done deal."-KidJethros own comment he made.

Yeah this sucks for Jethro, but it sounds like the whole thing was a "Maybe" anyway, he said it himself. I've had this happen to me and it does suck, but it happens. Jethros just pissed he missed out on a truck he had his heart set on and I dropped a J/K about it when his feelings were still sensitive about it. Once again, my bad man.

What really sucks here is that KidJethro is not stateside, he is off defending our freedom. He did the best he could to get there with cash in hand, got f^cked by the bank, sucks. The douche kid couldn`ve taken this into consideration. I never served, but have great respect for those who have, and currently do. I have sold stuff to military personel stationed abroad, and gone the xtra mile to help out and give a little better deal. Unless he rally needed the cash to keep a roof over his head or something. He should`ve given you the x-tra day or so, not like you were trying to blow him off, you stayed in contact. You`ll find another truck, and I`m sure the CK5 gang will keep looking for you.

Pretty much my thoughts.

Says a bit about ones character. Knowing that a guy intentionally went out of his way to serve his country (and re-enlisted during wartime) and you wouldnt hold the truck for him for two days is Paaaathetic! I have no respect for you my friend. In a situation like that you have to take care of those who take care of you. Selfish Bastards are abundant It seems........ buuut Im just another "Internet tough guy right?"

So..... do we sing Kumbaya now??................anybody?..........yeah?...no? :dunno: :D :haha:

Dude he's not pissed at the fact that the guy sold it as much as he was mad at your "JOKE". Thats sooooo not the issue. I mean it wasnt mydeal on the truck that got screwed and I blew my friggin top when i read your "JOKE". But for your "JOKE" this thread would have died pages ago with us posting srry you lost the deal and thats that. If my G'ma dies and I post it try to keep your "well she was old anyways" "JOKES" to yourself.

I've missed this thread somehow. Sorry you didn't get the truck Joe. I know when you sent me a link on Facebook you wanted it bad. Hell if I'd have had the cash i'd have helped ya out. After watchin the video hell I wanted it myself.

I know coming from California it was probably pretty much rust free and all that jazz but I can keep checking around and see if maybe I can find another one. I felt bad enough reading this thread that i'd sell you mine if I had another :(.

I can't blame the kid for selling but knowing what I know about people serving i'd have held it. If it turned out you couldn't swing it THEN I would have sold it.

AK i'm glad you came in and explained yourself for that horrible joke. I've had personal experience with my friends buying **** out from under me and when I read that I had the same reaction everyone else did.

Sorry to bring that back up again :doah:

hey

Hey Doonjumper, do we know that in fact Jethro actually Stated to the guy "Hey, I'm currently deployed right now, I got a guy thats going to the bank to get the money, he will be there in a day or so"?. Did Jethro convince the seller that he was infact truly serious and did he make the seller feel as if the deal was definetely going to go through?. Once again, I don't know. Its YOUR opinion if you think the seller was an A-hole for selling anyway. Let me ask you this, do you know the circumstances of the seller??? What if he needed the money AND LIKE HE NEEDED IT NOW. Ever been in that spot where you need the mother****in money and you need it now?. I have many times and I don't give a shiz where the cash comes from, just that I get it. What if the seller needed 6000 bucks that he had taken in a loan or his other truck was gonna get repo'd? What if he had 3 kids at home and the electricity was gonna be shut off the next day if he didn't pay the bill?. Exactly, you dont know **** my friend. Now, IF the seller had said to Jethro "yeah, no problem, I'll hold it for you", AND THEN SOLD it from under him then yeah, you are entitled to your opinion. I WAS military BUT THAT DOESN"T mean that you cut every guy thats in the Military a special deal all the time. I had a 700.00 stereo system stolen from my car one time by guess who?, NO not a street thug, a Goddamned Airman in the United States Air Force, does he deserve a break just because he's enlisted and serving our country??. The point is, DID THE SELLER TELL JETHRO HE WOULD HOLD IT FOR HIM AND THEN SOLD THE TRUCK TO SOMEONE ELSE, or was this simply a case where Jethro said "hey, I got a buddy going to the bank and he should be there today or tommorow or the next day" and the SELLER said "well thats cool, but I'm not holding it for you" and JETHRO just assumed he would get to the deal first?. Who knows. Back off, don't even know why you chimed in to stir the pot some more, I said I was sorry awhile ago, did ya not read that part or ya just like to bitch like my wife hours after the fight is done?.

No problems man, I'm just a regular decent guy AND I WOULDN"T do this to anyone myself. I just made a joke about a sensitive subject to an obvious sensitive crowd.:thumb:

Kidjethro, why not just find an 87' to 90' SRW or DRW crew cab and run a Gear Vendor Over/Underdrive unit. Why the spicific need for a 91'? the 4L80E & D70? My 2000 (last of that body style) crew cab 1 ton 3500, 454, 4x4 1 ton 4.10 gear truck was terrible for pulling trailers. Hauling a 18ft toy box trailer, I had to run way to fast to keep it in the torque of the motor in Drive, so I would run 2nd gear climbing grades and just maintain a slower speed.

If I went to Drive I had to be going faster then I wanted and should have to keep it pulling. Don't tow in OD anyways. I think a better setup it a TH400 with a GV OD/UD unit. The drop in torque and RPM from second to drive was way too much. OD is just for freeway driving with no load and street driving of course.

I think having half the rpm drop between the gears with a GV unit plus having that gear over drive or still an OD for a TH400 would be bad ass. Those year trucks are easier to find by alot. Thats what I'm going to run in my 89' crew cab. I don't care about cost of the GV unit. Whatever, I will buy it.
