The truck has been operational all week, and I've really enjoyed driving it. It had been too long.
The new cooler stack has worked very in this initial 100 miles. Ambient temp is 95 - 105, and water temp is exceptionally stable at 180 with a more regular fan clutch engagement (similar to the Duramax's behavior), EGTs run about 150 lower when under load and quickly drop to 250 at idle (only run up to 800 thus far), and trans and engine temps/pressures are well within norms. With this solid baseline, I'll change the oil and begin more rigorous trials.
During this time, I went ahead and finished out the exhaust. 4" all the way, with the exit tucked up high, enough room for the suspension to cycle, and a v-band so I can disconnect for convenience. The Flowmaster 40 is obnoxious, so I'm planning to switch to a hush power or ultra flo, which is better suited for a diesel.
As well, three Vintage Air boxes arrived, so I'll start reading those destructions.
But first, a very busy week of work.
