Lots of miscellaneous progress this week.

Tire carrier is 80% done but paused while I rework the latch mechanism, the underside of the truck is almost entirely painted, cutting and buffing is about to start, and I got to weld up the first of the door insert storage baskets.

Anodized aluminum would look better if you have time and a local shop.
Later sets for sure. A type 3 black would be nice.

This one is a test, and it’ll get coated in 316 black. Plus, I used 4943 and 4043 filler, and they don’t take anno’ very well. I’ll break out the 5356 next time.

Those turned out great.
Thanks Jason. They need minor adjustments for the check straps and door latch, but that’s about it.

The doors are slightly different - one is wider by an inch - but I’m still going to try and make one design work for both. After the show, Gabe gets this set, and I’ll draw up Rev1.

So close to finishing this. The last handful of details always take a minute.

It’s almost a full 180* swing.

These are “Greg gussets.”

Last detail is the mid-opening pin to allow for opening the primary barn door without having to physically hold the carrier or open it all the way.
