One Piece at a Time: My 1985 Diesel Suburban

fantastic ! Still doing In N Out in Kingman on the 2nd ? I plan on coming maybe get K5devil to come along

I really want to see it in person to soak in all the attention to detail, and how some things were done. What is the agreed upon value at Hagerty gonna be ?
Still doing 11/2, yessir. It's 150K on Hagerty. Eliminating my labor, that's what it has in parts.

Tom Baily realized a lot of the people that wanted to do Sick Week and other drag n drive events couldn't insure their vehicles properly so he worked with an insurance company to start Sick Insurance. Unfortunately because I have a C20 and they just don't ever sell for that much, the most they could insure me for was $40K. It's better than what i could get through a regular insurance company though.

I figured that was the case by the name of it, might have to look into it.

Hagerty specifically excludes coverage for anything that's ever used off-road. Have you found another kind of policy by just upping the premiums or something?
They know it will go on public land trails and were fine with that one the phone. Let’s see if the coverage comes together tomorrow. I have to send photos.

Checking things off the list.

Dome light plates. These are the rough ins, and the finals just arrived from sendcutsend. Two BD switchable dome lights will mount on each plate.

Old barn door.

Headliner relaxed, painted, and ready for install. This was a PITA.

IMG_1425.jpeg

Tristan doing the final clean before headliner.

IMG_1424.jpeg

Drip rails installed with super duper cool high torque sheetmetal trim screws. The torx head makes these so much easier to install than the OE hex head.

IMG_1407.jpeg

Stainless black all things.

IMG_1403.jpeg

Power bulkhead where the old car-phone antennae used to be. The 8XL's wiring is completely hidden.

IMG_1398.jpeg

GSI handles, installed. The barn door handle only needed minor modification to work.

The checklist is getting shorter.
