Phil's '88 Big Blue Build Thread

I figured that if you are a mod on a guitar site, then you probably play some type of guitar. So you should have good calluses on your finger tips. Depending on how long you've been playing.

I used to. Ever since I bought the truck, I have been massively slacking on guitar playing. I don't think I have even picked one up in 2016 yet. lol. When summer hits here, I'll probably be spending more time inside though.

I haven't practiced or even picked up a guitar for many years. My first was a Gretsch hollow body in 1978. Wished I would have kept that one.

Sorry.....didn't mean to hijack the thread.

Carry on.

hijack on: some of my childrens...just got to learn to play as good as they sound...

Well, sorta some action pics. This was going up a pretty good hill, but looks like I'm on a driveway. Wish I could take action pics of myself. lol. Did get a bit of a bloody nose today. :D

I'll keep trying.

I knew one club that would trade cameras before the run so other people would get pics of your rig on your camera.

That's a great idea. This time it was just the two of us. The Grand Cherokee belongs to the guy that owns our company. His wife did the pic taking.

What is that hollowbody? A Harmony?

Actually, it's a low buck Hamer Echotone. I threw in a set of Bill Lawrence (The Real Bill & Becky Lawrence) L450 pickups. I also upgraded the electronics in it. Sounds way better than a cheap made in China knockoff should.

So will you tell how you got a dent clear up on top of the fender?

hahaha. Yeah, interesting place to get a dent. The trail went RIGHT next to a rock cliff, had to pull in the passenger mirror. Trail was pretty rough, driver's side rear wheel went over something big and pitched me into the wall. Got a couple scratches around the wheel well too, but no dent.

A spotter may have prevented it, but oh well. lol.
