I sold the same damn axle last year for $250 and it took me over a month to sell it!

Story of my life. lol. That one on the WFO site was perfect too, came with 4:10!!!!!

Well, yeah, doesn't look like an 8 lug axle is going to show up any time soon. If I do find one I can pass the parts on to someone else that needs them, but looks like I'll be using them.

I'm not sure what all I need. lol. But 8 lug rotors are pretty cheap from o'Reilly's. That's pretty much all I'll need, eh?

Oh, and Calipers, but those aren't much either.

That's retarded. I see them $200-300 with 4.10's fairly often during the winter when people aren't wheeling as much.

I actually found one with 4.56 gears in my area a few years back. Picked it up for $150. Ran it for a few years and sold it for $300.

Are the spindles the same, and just the wheel bearing different from the 1/2 ton stuff?

IIRC some 1/2 ton spindles work, the later ones.

Might just be the Dana 44

There are 2 versions of Dana 44 axles in which the later version you can still use the 1/2 ton spindles, but the earlier version you must upgrade to the 3/4 spindles

The early external hub Dana 44's have different parts than the internal hub Dana 44's.

the interwebs says you need a big bearing spindle if you're upgrading from a 10 bolt 1/2 ton axle. Apparently the later D44's are already big bearing based on that tech article I posted above.

I can send you the spindles as well.

Why not just look up the parts numbers for bearings for a 1987 V10 and a 1987 V20?

My understanding is that 10 bolts all have the big bearings (and thus Phil would already have big bearing spindles), as do later D44s. That is what I found when I tore apart the front of my 1984 K10 to do this swap. Same bearings, no problems found.
