Phil's '88 Big Blue Build Thread

Hence one of the reasons I like CK5. You can ask questions. Your not gonna get hammered. I have answered most of these questions alot.

But we all start somewhere. And the search button while great is sometimes somewhat ineffective

I know I am late, but I rocked the Reid knuckle on my 44 for a couple years. I loved it. Never once regretted buying it.

I could get one to you, but the Reid knuckle is not a bad idea. Let me know.

I forgot to tell you it did.

Well least ways I got a letter from you today.

I never actually opened it, but I assume that is what is in it......

As long as someone else didn't open it first, you should be good. lol.

Rusty parts arrived! Thanks a bunch!

So, I just got back from my parents. Some of you may have seen some of the pics I posted of my Dad's bone stock '70, with 250 six and 3 on the tree.

Apparently about 5 years ago they sold it to a cousin of mine. (Dad is 92 now, and has Alzheimers, doesn't really know what's going on). Anyhow, apparently my cousin parked it in a barn in Montana, and now lives in Alaska, not doing anything with it. So I asked my mom to try and get ahold of him one of these days and see if he'd be interested in letting me buy it back off him.

It would mean a lot to me, Dad got it when I was about 7 years old, I learned to drive on it, and grew up with it. So, we'll see! Might slow down this build a bit, but I'm still moving forward with it. Going to start ordering crossover parts next week.

Wish me luck! I don't really need another Blazer, but i'd like to have this one.

You'd be a fool not to buy it, if you have the opportunity.

Martin

Yeah, I've got mom working on it. He only gave them $3000 for it! Jeez. We'll see.

BTW, it has a factory hand throttle. Knob on the dash ratchets out, then screw it back in to get the RPM you want. And factory tach, dunno how rare it is on the first gens.
