@muddysub, how much rear visibility do you lose due to the spare tire blocking your view? Seems like most of the swing out tires wind up on the passenger side, but I'm thinking of doing driver side due to the barn door configuration.

Methinks that the windows are tinted dark enough that I'd hardly notice the loss, but there's nothing like real-world observations from folks who have already done what I'm thinking of copying. :thinking:

My rear view mirror fell off years ago and no glue that I've tried will stick it back on. So I couldn't tell you much about it haha! When I look back over my shoulder I'm always surprised at how much visibility I have out the back. I'd like to put in one of those wide angle, multi piece mirrors.
 
I didn't figure it'd work but awhile back I used a little JB weld I already had mixed up to glue a rear view back on. Worked great and is still hanging up after about a year.

Absolutely, I had a great time. After the off roading I have been used to doing all my life, the first 10 minutes of Hell's Revenge was quite a slap in the face. But after I un-puckered, it was awesome. lol.

It started hopping pretty hard once on Fin's N Things, and I started getting worried about grenading the 10 bolt. I'll work on my 14 bolt for next year, I'd feel a bit more comfortable.

Cool. Well, the good news is that you have your parts all lined up for the 14-bolt swap, right? Or are you still looking for front axle stuff? :thinking:

I think I have everything for the front, except regearing it. The rear I gotta start cutting off spring pads and such, that won't be a lot of fun.

But that stuff is off of the truck. It's not a big deal cutting and remounting spring pads when the axle is sitting on the floor/bench/AnywhereThat'sNotUnderTheTruck. Do you have a cutting torch? Grinding wheel? Hammer and chisel? Or a buddy with any one of these things? You can do this! :popcorn:

I drive my Moab inspired crawler with AC 80mph about 60 miles a day 4 days a week and I would be comfortable driving it long distances other than the cost of fuel. 42's eat a lot of gas. I had driveability in mind when I built it though. So... It is possible but I totally know what you are saying. Just want to encourage (ok maybe it's peer pressure) you to go a little further than you think you can. Lol

Yeah, I have a grinder. Just need to find my motivation, I think it's in a box somewhere.
