Phil's '88 Big Blue Build Thread

Right now, I'm just trying to save up some money. The lawyer I have in California to stop the child support garnishment is costing a bunch. (My son is almost 21 and my daughter is 19 and I'm still paying). Lawyers always win.

So that is hurting my fun money. Before I do the 14 bolt I need a ring and pinion swap kit, and buy the detroit locker. I'm still debating the shackle flip.

Muddysub said he'll help me torch off the spring pads and shock mounts, so one of these weekends maybe we can get that done.

Good news is, for my wheeling around here it's working fine as it is, so I'll still be heading out every chance I get.

my ex pissed off the child support folks so bad they cut the payment as soon as my boy hit 18. Normally I would have had to go to court to petition for it. They did it for me. Hell of a b-day present!

Well, two years today of absolute joy with my rig. Still love it. Passed smog with flying colors.

Did beat up the rear diff cover with Muddysub a couple weeks ago, it's leaking beyond repair. Ordered a new heavy duty one from Summit. Was delivered today, but nowhere to be found. Hoping a neighbor picked it up for me.

It has changed quite a bit since then, too.

I still like the white. :thumb:

Thank you sir! I'm really proud of it. To me it's the coolest rig around. :D

And, just found out the neighbor lady had my box. Yay!

The diff cover came with a gasket. Do you guys use the gasket, pitch it and use RTV, or use both?
