That thing looks sweet!:bow::bow::bow:

Good to see someone is doing good in this s**ty economy.

The poor tranny/transfer case are already crying.:eek1::eek1::eek1:

Is that the ZZ572/620 Deluxe?

It is. I am going to clean up the heads and change the cam before it goes in. It has a morfidite head on it with a gorilla cam. They tried to compensate for the crappy head by putting such a large cam for what it is. I should be able to move the power band down 600 to 700rpm and give up a little hp but pick up torque and make it idle better. I do not want ANY stall in the converter. Big inch pump gas big blocks is something I have actually had a TON of experience with. The tranny and case is getting ready to get a work out.

Nice! Just kind of suck that you have to change that new motor to make it work better.

Im not saying its not a good motor....I would just like the power band lower and less lope for putting around in the woods. If you were gonna drag race it with a stall it would be the chit! It will definately pull to 6000 with the cam thats in it....and it takes a big hydraulic for a 572 to do that. The 598ci 750 hp naturally aspirated BB's I used to have in my boat would be the absolute bomb in one of these trucks. 800ft lb of torque at 3500rpm and over 750hp by 5300. Even doing a budget build based on the same specs as what I had in the boat was going to be almost double what the ZZ572 was. I felt like I can do a couple of things that I know will work and get close to within a 125hp and 100 ft lbs of torque for half the money. Its going to have to be a huge difference. It motors down the interstate pretty good at 70 now with 190hp.:D

It should make that burb just come to life. That thing will be wild with close to 600 HP.

WOW, that will be 3X what it has now!:D :D :D

Quervo, where you at in Bama.? I have family scattered all over the whole state.

Just down the rode from your alma mater in Smiths Station near Phenix City. I got transfered here via the Army in 94. I've been all over the place but the family stayed here while I was deployed. I retired in Dec last year so we stayed and call it home now. I don't miss the west coast at all, which is were we are from. :haha:

I was stationed at Fort Campbell for a long time and miss it a bunch. Well, I guess more the Soldiers I served with then anything else.

I got all my tattoos at Fort Benning years ago down by you now. I'm 45 mins from Cambell. We wheel sometimes at Land Between the Lakes in Cadiz about an hour and a half west of Clarksville. I really enjoyed going to school down there. Wheeled in the National Forrest back in the late 80's. Had a 77 lwb with 8" suspension, 2" trailmaster traction lift all the way around and a 3" body on 17x40 gumbo's on 15x12 chrome modulars. Had a barn built (thunderusone custom) 400sbc with the biggest hyd cam erson made. Told everyone it was about 600hp. We actually believed it. Might have had 300hp....but we were living the dream. Went by the Auburn Police Dept one afternoon with a half gallon of Early Times half gone with a cab full of girlz and a frat brother.....stood on it in a right hand turn at the stop sign right by the pd (bunch of officers were standing outside looking at us) and the c clip broke and the whole right rear axle, brake drum, wheel and tire came out right in front of the po po and we skidded to a halt. Talked my way out of a DUI....locked in the front end....drug it back to the fraternity house with sparks coming off the chunk with the rest of the carnage in the bed. Did not get laid and lost a day of cool that afternoon!! AHHH...the good ole days!:D

Can i just say, Thank you for joining the board!

No brother...its the other way around. I want to thank everyone for being so helpful here and sharing all thier stuff. I WOULD NOT be where I am on this project without all the support and tech advice / resources here to get headed in the right direction so quickly on this build. This project has just fallen out of the sky so to speak for me. I visited a buddy at Christmas to blow off some rounds at his range. The burb was sitting there in really poor condition. I asked what he was going to do with it and he said "send it back to Tn with you.". I thought...man that thing would be great to put the 50 in the back of with a chit load of cans of ammo and not worry about skinning it up. My hound dog goes with me everywhere I go if its not work related and I thought he could roam all over the burb. I brought it home.....driving it on the way back to Tn......I thought about all the memories I had growing up and all the wild years in the K5's I owned. I found you guys on K5 and the rest is history. Whatever this thing turns into (i know they are never done) will be all because of you guys.
