Pics of my Dana 60 14BFF Install

The variety of engine choices and impressive buildups on this site have me wondering what I will do when I swap the SB out of my suburban. It was left to last on purpose. Your plans for your build sound great.

Here are a few fuel plumbing goodies. I am plumbing it all in #10 so that I will have enuff supply for 1000hp if I decide to add a blower. Cometic gaskets going on to eliminate that weak link.

Here is a real double roller timing set so that you can easily degree the cam on the money. Got the lifters soaking in my 007 concoction.

Just out of curiosity....I weighed it at a truckstop on the way over to the mountains this weekend. With the burb full of fuel as it is currently set up with a small block, some groceries, 100#s of tools....me....the wife....and the dog....she came in at 6,840#'s with the weight bias on the back. I would have never guessed that!:D

It's that 40 gallons of fuel all the way in the back.

Ok, here is the update. When I got the heads off to put my cometic gaskets on for potential future whipple suppercharger, I was not happy with the cyls. The crosshatch was not what I was expecting. The motor sat for so long that there was light rust on the walls and it did not have total seal rings in it. So, I decided to tear it on down to ck clearances. They were close....but not exactly what I like to run. So, I got all new bearings, total seal rings, spiral locks, arp headbolts....etc..etc. I am dropping the block off Monday to be honed with a torque plate. I have .005 piston clearance now so I am gonna hone out about another .001 to .002 to clean it up. I should be going back together with it late next week. My electronics came in to control the 4l80E. I am still waiting on the radiator system from Bcool. Here are a couple pics. We usually see 15 to 20hp increase on a big inch motor using total seal rings. I may go ahead and dyno it when I get it together just to see if my cam change is gonna do what I am shooting for. I have decided to do a custom paint job on the motor too. More info and pics to come when I have time....I am slammed with wk right now!!

I still havent nailed the tranny combo yet. I think I am gonna do TCI's lower first gear. I am talking with TCI and Monster on the tranny right now....or building it myself.

I will sell these heads complete for $1800.00 shipped. I would like to upgrade to Brodix since I am this far into it. They have good stainless sever duty valves, 10 degree locks and titanium retainers. Good for .632 lift.

I think you should take up pro-stock racing....it might be cheaper.:haha:

Ok, I got the block back from the machine shop with the new hone job specifically for total seal rings. I have been detailing the block all day...tapping holes..deburring edges...race prep..etc..etc. I took it outside and washed it down good with a 5 gal can of mineral spirits and suction gun. I am gapping the rings now...here are a few pics.
