I'm glad to see all the progress he's made and I'm glad to see that the American dream hasn't been squashed just yet. I'm almost inspired to get up off my lazy butt and work some overtime or something.

I'd say by now if he hasn't chosen to share details of his income or profession, he doesn't want to and isn't going to. Take a hint people...he owes us nothing.
Enjoy the build, drool if you must...but please stop pestering him with questions about his personal life and profession.
Personally I think it's just really cool to see a cubic dollar build here, they're pretty rare.

I think this project needs to be titled, Weak Link.... with that mill, it's bound to be found...
Curious about this. If he was running huge meats......probably. But, with only 37's.....i'm thinking the 14 bolt FF is up to the task. Not like he is going to do 4wd burnouts on the pavement........

true test of the drivetrain right there... straightline shouldn't be a big deal... I use to do huge 4 wheel holeshots back in the 80's with my 340 4spd Power Wagon on 36's...
that motor should annihilate those 37's....
hey Thunder, what was the use/purpose of the rig again? I'm sure it could tow the boats, but I'm sure your dizzle is the main towrig.... and the mileage of that mill should be "interesting"...

The plan...is this. My wife was diagnosed with Lupus a few years ago. She is my number one riding buddy. We do everything together. She had her own quads over the years, Brute Force with a 900cc Four Stroke Tech motor with Elka suspension in it....then she had an 800cc Can Am Outlander with custom suspension. Her health has gotten worse and she can't ride (the steering hurts the most) her own quad anymore...so I sold her Can Am. She rides with me in the long travel rhino with the Rotax motor that I built sometimes. But the cold really makes her hurt. Her Lupus is attacking her nerves so it is very painfull for her. She still loves getting up in the mountains and us spending time together with our dog Wyllis. So, I thought, I could build this for us to creep around moderate trails and still drive it back and forth to from the house to the RV. 320 miles roundtrip with the AC and heat and still have something with enough giddy up for me to smack every now and then for chits and giggles. We tow the rhino back and forth to the RV...so it won't be towing much. I will probably move one of the boats to the ramp with it every now and then. The ramp is 1/2 mile from my house.
Over the years, I have had multiple trucks of this body style that I built and I loved them all. I had a 77 LWB with 2 1/2 ton rockwells and 44's with 4 wheel steering that I built in 1989. I literally had a torch, a cutoff tool and a little craftsman tool box that looked like a tackle box. I built it all outside in the gravels with 2 sheets of 3/4 plywood and enough concrete blocks with cap blocks to build a small outbuilding. I didn't even own a floor jack or jack stands. I had A bottlejack. I also built everything in between and I got to see what did work and what didn't work. I helped build the Original Sampson Monster Truck out of Huntsville Alabama and also Fastracks....which was a tank, that we cut in half, narrowed it and put an alcohol burning big block in it. Then flipped it in the Houston Astrodome doing donuts in it in front of a packed house. All of that stuff was then sold to RJ Reynolds....the tobacco company and the Monster truck craze began as Bob Chandler (Bigfoot) now had competition from the guy I was helping and teaching me (Don Maples) that created Sampson (the original)
I wanted something with enough capability to still ride trails in the rain and snow and heat....be inside with the windows up with AC, the dog in the backseat....and enough room to carry alot of firearms. I have alot of class 3 weapons and I enjoy shooting them back in the sticks. So, its for her and me. It won't be a competive rock crawler. I just think an old school burb with this kind of power done right is cool. I will also drive it to wal Mart and fuk with stock sportscars. I like having stuff with more power than it is supposed to have in it. The Dually is my daily driver and my wife has an H2. Before I took the 350 out of it. We drove it to the mountains every weekend and had more fun it it than we do in that brand new H2.
Its also the only vehicle I own that this fits in the back without having to break it down.
Nothing like busting some 50BMG with Nightvision on across a valley to see tracers roll in and expode into a fireball on the side of a bluff a 1/2 mile away. She used to shoot it too. Now she shoots suppressed 9MM MG's

How'd you get the suppressor? Thought you need a class3 for that.
First of all that is not a Suppressor on the 50. That is a muzzle break to divert the shock wave out to the sides and around the shooter. Extended exposure to a direct line of the 50 shockwave very close to the muzzle can make your heart get out of rythem.
Here is a REAL suppressor on a 6.8MM AR style assualt rifle. The 6.8MM has as much energy at 100 yards as a 223 (AR-15) has at the muzzle. The suppressor is Class 3
The second rifle shown requires 2 Class 3 approvals. It is a short barreled rifle and has a suppressor. The pistol is an HK 9MM special purpose pistol made to be used suppressed as the sights are taller so that you can see over the suppressor. It requires one $200 tax stamp and ATF approval as the pistol does not require a class 3 by itself. I have a Machine Gun that requires 3 approvals. One for MG, one because it is a short barreled rifle and one for the suppressor.
Lastly, I have stacks of approvals from the ATF as EVERYTHING I OWN is 100% legit. I have been through EXTENSIVE ATF background checks to be able to have all of this. After the flood happend, the Sherriff came out to check on me. I told him how thoughtful that was......he said well that and we needed to make sure that all of your weapons were secure.......and I thought it was because he was worried about me!
For those that wonder what I do for a living and made reference to me not being "legit".....you are not allowed to have any of these things if you are not 100% legit and then some. Having any of these weapons without the ATF approvals I carry is an automatic felony with MANDATORY federal jail time on the first offense. Or, I guess I could use them at work.......
